If the stock air box is so good then why did the blackbird system put out more horsepower?I still think it is the better ram effect look at the Panamera and other Porsche,Ferrari etc that are all using the short ram design. On the dirty filter area on the stock filter it looks to be more dirt over the MAF area as it may pull air thru harder there. The outter edges seem cleaner because air isnt pulled thru there as much thats only my guess but seems what my old air box looks like. With the short ram it is a direct shot. The stock airbox air is coming in from both sides into each other and the ram pipe is directing the air down to flow together as the air enters. If the stock air box was so good they would still be using the design today I feel the stock air box is 1970's technology.
I'm agreeing with you. Maybe supercharged cars show up as an increase in efficiency? Either way, your system should be able to handle something like 2x the need of a stock engine, so should handle most supercharged applications as well. The only concern I would have (because I've built some of the Specter things in the past) would be what kind of boost pressure they'd hold up to. Since most of the superchargers I've seen for the 928 are after the intake tubing, it probably doesn't matter much, only if the intake system is pressurized, intercooled, something like that. At that point it might be beneficial to cut steel tubing to length rather than the use the Spectre sections, but I'm prepared to be impressed by how well it holds together, too.

I'm used to my old strip street car where the automatic could be held at 3500rpm and when you floored it the converter would hit 5200rpm and the car lauched.
Anyone ever try a good converter that matches the intake and cams where the car could be held at 2500 to 2800 rpm and flash rpm when floored of the 3500 to 3800 level then the car could launch off the line hard it probably would knock 1/2 second on ET.Could the rest of the drivetrain take it?

Trimmed the passenger side back today so now the tubes are more uniform in look.
Some more close up pictures.
Built 2 more Y PIPES that are the press on style to the MAF that are spoken for.

What is a web site

Yes as soon as we have it fully installed on a couple or three cars.
Pictures will surface on here after tomorrow I am sure.

We have not forgotten the 85 & 86 32v guys either.

I think Roger will offer the kit with the silicon adapter to hose clamp mount the Y pipe?
I will offer the same system as I built with the press on Y pipe as on my car on a custom build basis request or will offer the pipe for anyone that just wants to make the rest of the system their way.
If the system seems to work good at the track will check into other options. If it doesnt run any faster at the track might have another idea in the works.
Its more $ for that style pipe but there's alot more work involved in machining it and it will press on the MAF same as stock.

Jim finished our system today and ran some test drives - everything works well.
Second system will go on my car within the next couple of days and pictures will be posted tomorrow.
It looks awesome!!!!!

Third unit will go on Sean's car and then we will do some dyno runs, before and after, to see if there are any gains other than "bling".

Waiting for results on a dyno test also on another that was installed with the press on style adapter and that car may even show up at SITM.
Weighed the whole system with all clamps hoses, elbows, filters the Y pipe with press on adapter and it was 8lbs.You can remove the whole system also together and press right back on no tools needed to take on and off once it is together to clean the MAF when needed as it feels like one solid piece when put together.
