No FTD, dern it.
Well, this month I got beat down to third place. The course this month was tight with nothing faster than 2nd gear.
A full track setup, tube frame, nowhere near street legal, trailer queen 914-6 got FTD with 89.6 seconds.
A Honda S2000 that runs the same Dunlop Direzza tires I do, and is typically a second behind me put on a supercharger and got a time of 89.8 seconds. He was disappointed he didn't beat me by more with the addition of the supercharger.
The fastest time I could muster was 90.0.
I did beat the Shelby Super Snake and NSX both on competition slicks by almost a full second.
Really makes me want to find some GT cams for my GTS

I've had two 944 Turbos that have made me just a bit leery of the whole forced induction engine management / reliability thing. Maybe if I was a 9/10ths driver and didn't drive like a maniac at our autocrosses, ie., full throttle (well as much throttle as rear tires will take), threshold braking, or 4 wheel drift. Anything else makes slower lap times.
Check my signature Alembic. I helped setup the course Saturday nite and took a lap in my Range Rover. Didn't time it, but top speed was 45 where I was hitting 65 in the 928.

IMO at least for an autocross, I think an S/C'ed 928 will do just fine in terms of reliability. 951's are half the displacement of your 928. If your car would have i.e. 500hp at the crank, the heads, pistons and rods would see similar stress levels as a 951's respective components do at 250hp if both cars are tuned properly.
In terms of driving style, I think you would definitely not want to be at WOT in 1st OR 2nd gear, but you could maybe go fast enough to be at WOT in 3rd going straight

Still impressive for a GTS to compete and win against much lighter-smaller more nimble cars....I would say .4 second of FTD is a victory....since your car is so close to stock & the others are FAR from it

Car sounds mean!
Nice job getting around that coarse. Looks like you handled it really well.
It always makes me wonder how many comments you get from the other guys after getting times like that as compared to much smaller cars like the 914.

Afshin, The comments I get is at first that it looks really fast. Then that I am a crazy driver. I've set FTD in a BMW X3 SUV. I started a driving school for the local PCA this summer.
Joe, Exhaust is an X-pipe and sport cats from Roger, GTS baffles, and RMB from 928 Motorsports. The connections for the cats are leaking a little, time to redo them.

Adam, alignment and rear shock rebound softness combined with proper braking to put weight on front. Front -1.8 camber, 0 toe, stock castor.

Nice! Made my heart soar like an eagle, as they say, to watch this. Yes, a roots blower would help you coming out of the slow turns, but your car sounds darn healthy as it is. And you suspension seems dialed in!
