Dean, that car is absolutly amazing looking. You did a fantastic job. With winter and the bad weather coming when are you going to get the glass back in?

Thanks Jim...All I have to do on the hatch is wet sand and buff...then it will go on. The door glass is just rolled down. The quarter glass I could put in any time...so that's probably next. The car is out of the rain inside the enclosed plastic paint booth so for now its okay.

Okay Dean. I hate to say it but I officially hate you now. I thought my car looked nice. Now I am sitting here crying about all the work I am going to have to do just to get to 1/2 of what you did.

best wishes all!

Dean, looking through autobahnAmbition i noticed a Green machine. Looking it up through Youtube got me to this clip of a green Lambo vs a green porsche.

It would be great to see your sons Porsche with black spoke wheels and the ring (don't think that that's the correct word for it) in the body colour.

Speaking of your son's car, how is she developping???

Hatch is on and buffed.
Mirrors on.
Door / roof trim on and buffed.
Cowl cover on and buffed.
Slowly but surely I'm getting there.

Will re buff in the spring as the cold weather doesn't seem to let the rubbing compound do its thing as well as in hot weather.

Looks great, but man, I'd put on the window trim before the side mirrors!

Dean before you put the trims and the rear windows back in I suggest to use a small bead of Dow Corning 111 sealant on the body grooves, this will keep out water and prevent rust from starting, esp under the quarter window seals and in the well of the hatch to glass,
Note it may make a few smears when you wash the car but this will gradually go away and spot detailer will remove the silicone streaks.

I would have taken GTS Aero mirrors, they give the 928 a fresher look.

Yes they look very nice but they reduce the field of vision by alot. The GTS mirrors take away from the most important area too, the bind spot. Wiring them up is nearly impossible too.

Nice weather today so Garrett and I installed the quarter glasses and rear deck trim. I will need to touch up the SEC Black paint on the trims but its on for now. The quarter glass was harder to install than I thought. It took 4 or 5 tries before the first one went in without a problem. I did add Vaseline to the two corners and used a slight jerking with the string instead of a constant pull. The corners are the problem areas. The second window went in on the first try.
