I guess the wonderful free english-german translator isn't so great afterall!!

I do like Leichenwagen too....but KrankenWagen just sounds COOL......

Hmm....we all wear scrubs with fake blood-guts on them.... put a knarly dummy on a mini gurney hanging out the back...... We could even design it to Eject out the back.......hmmm

Just looking at the traqmate your best was 2:19.3 Lap 16 of your stint. Pretty good if you asked me for a guy who was puking in his helmet and had a fever of 101 the day before. Amazing really! Moma must have some good drugs

If you removed the Estate roof and cut down the body to make it like an El Camino, with the rollcage extensions sticking out it might look a bit like a Subaru Brat(wurst?). You could do it up in WRC livery (Gold phone dials FTW!) but with Brat decals and some rear facing plastic bucket seats.

Ok, weird idea. Had to throw it out there.

yeah sorry I was freaking out when i saw you guys going to town on the hood, if you press donw on it you can quite easily bend the stainless down and you will see the X under brace show through, that can not be removed and i happen to have an early hood which is worth over $2000! i told the other judge phil to make you guys do just one panel, but it didnt get through, to mirror polish a delorean it takes about 40hrs of labor per fender! i should have brought more polish!

like Brian said, a big time NO on the shark idea, its possibly the most over done theme which is unforutunate as it would fit the car well

what ever you guys choose, you are doing the theme labor, not me. if you could keep the esate rear id appreciate it, i put some late nights in that!

The estate work is fab! nice job there, no doubt.

The only reason i bring up the shark theme, is because it the only one that would really fit the bill . too bad EVERYONE has used it.

Put the headlight buckets back on and run with them up as eyes.
Maybe give it a set of big white buck teeth and a tail. Call it the shooting beaver or something.

And strap some chainmail to it, paint a big chain and spiked mace ball on it too, call it the MidEvil Racy Beaver.

I'm confident y'all can build on this...

(Okay, enough, gotta get back on the job hunt.)

I like the hearse idea... call it the "Gravedigger", put a shovel on the hood with a p-crest painted on it, close off the quarter windows and put the landau irons on it... You could mock up a casket end that would be visible at the rear with a skeleton hand peeking out. You could also put a mallet and wood spike in a box with lexan cover on the tailgate... "In case of emergency break glass"...

Thats pretty good considering the friggin tires were in the way!!! The tire barrier had to be at least a second slower.....since before you would come off 9a with some speed, but with the tires the engine would lug 2nd gear and it wouldn't drop to 1st (which would have helped a bunch)....I'm happy with the 2:19.3....

Lots of great ideas.....but no matter what we will keep the estate roof & not paint over clints handy work....its just too cool to do that!!! Not to worry Evil Clint....I wouldn't do that do ya! Which is why some type of wagon-hearse ambulance is an easy transition....

I'm sure everyone had their own issues but Sean showed me my fastest lap from Saturday and it had me going 17-22 mph for 3 stright turns becuase of yellow flags. It would be really interesting to see the estimated fast lap that the software predicts is possible for the driver. It's probably 10 seconds faster than any of us ever went.

I forgot to look at the fan set up up front, but if you have ONLY the AC fan in front, with the use of the stock spacers that bolt to the front of the car, then THERE is your problem. Trust me, over 15 years of racing this exact car , and I can tell you that it is NOT EVEN close enough of the air flow you need to get through the radiator. PLUS, if you dont have that rubber seal on the top of the air vents, air will just by pass the radiator all together at high speeds. you need a good seal, and you need a puller 16" fan on the INSIDE of the radiator. the AC fan helps, but is not needed. Having it, will keep the engine cool and happy if the radiator is not clogged, which I dont think it is. absolutely, if Scot or I have a fan issue, it WILL overheat. i burned a fuse in my main fan, and it over heated on the track. with it, cool as a cucumber.( have a redundant system , so I can turn on the other fan manually, when the switched fan fails) scot has both fans on one relay and a manual switch, but not redundant, but if the ac fan fails, the car still runs safe. if the main fan fails, you would have issues, PERIOD.

Moral of the story, get a 16" fan from pepboys or kragens. (about $45). Put it in parallel to the AC fan. otherwise, you are chasing your tail with overheating.

I put my 84 Auto back into service today. This is my favorite car. I have "enhanced" gearing, though. Reminds me of Jadz928's Euro 5 speed.

BTW, is there an Estate Kit available? 928 ES. Like the old Volvo ES.

I'll do some searching for you on JalopyJournal for ratrodded hearse designs.
