Sorry to hear about this!

Have you confirmed it really is TBF?

Although it does sound like TBF, the car needs to be seen by a competent mechanic to check it out thoroughly before buying anything.

Best wishes,

Which is why Constantine and PK are so busy.....

Gotta check those things, and clamp them.

Hate to hear of this, especially now that it's such a well known issue with a couple of good protective measures available.

the upside is that since you have an 89 the heads will worth quite a bit more than early S4 heads.
the 89 heads have longer head bolts and thus more material in the head to prevent cracking, these heads are good for supercharging, you could probably sell them for about 1500.00 with the cams.
though if there was a bunch of metal in the oil the lifters are toast check the camjournals

Or he can keep them and get a nice short block to slap them on. If it is a TBF than all he needs really is a good low end. Even the pistons and rods would still be good in that tbf motor I take it?

Yea, about 12 YEARS ago! I think the car has had about 5k miles put on it in 12 years, but man when it runs it makes CRAZY A$$ power and the thing looks better than any 928 has a right to look! Just like to actually SEE IT more!

Sterling does have an awesome car , i wish I could have gotten a ride in it......
Lots of very cool subtle mods, that increase the shock and awe factor
