Thanks to Roger this will be added along with a loud and unrestricted exhaust next week (and the previously mentioned hesitation hopefully diagnosed and fixed) as well as getting the sunroof properly leveled up (it is a touch low on the rear passenger side).
This piece looks familiar:

^^^^^^
Is that your old "test pipe" Hacker? Roger couldn't remember where he got it from. Looked MUCH better when you had it! LOL! Hope the boys at the shop will clean it up real nice and put some very high temp paint on it!

I hope it helps some... we will go from this to a 2 in to 1 collector and then large 3.5" all the way back with a flowmaster type muffler in the middle.

Jim, that is cool! Different strokes for different folks. The black/polished is to common and there is nothing really shiny on the car, but I love the G. Red and so do many others so I figured, "what the heck" and just did it! I always wanted a set of custom wheels on a car and frankly I LOVE THEM! Got my 928 Owners Club valve stem caps on them too!

James, I think there may be too much red for some. But considering it's your car it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks now does it? I did think that you were only gonna paint the very outer part of the lip red, and not the whole stepped "lip". It kinda seems like you lose the detail of those spokes with the black though. It's probably mucho bettero in person though!

Mucho better in person!

Yea, I didn't ask for opinions on what people thought because it makes no difference, it is exactly what I was looking for! That is all that matters!

Thanks Steve!

So, you know how folks always say red cars attract the cops... Well, I guess it is TRUE!

So, I am out for my first "real" drive in EURO85 today and I take it about 28 miles out to the town next door because I like to go to my fav BBQ place from time to time. On my way back I am on this nice "back road" which is two lanes and two big shoulders and should easily be a 65 mph speed limit. I am going about 62 just taking it easy and I top a little rise about the same time as a cop tops the one ahead of me... You can see where this story is going already can't you?!

Sure enough he slows down, pulls over, and when I go past he turns around. Comes towards me, turns on his lights. I pull over. "What is the story on that wide thin license plate? Is that a Texas plate?" Then he goes to the front of the car (THANK GOD I had my regular TX plate on that end) and comes back to my window. I tell him this is a German car FROM GERMANY and so we had that plate made... "Oh, ok."

"Sir, I can't find my proof of insurance but I do have it..." "Who is your insurance with?" "JC Taylor." "No problem I'll check on it and be right back."

He comes back, "Your insurance is good till June 2011. The speed limit on this road is 55 and you were going 63...keep it down."

YEA!!!! I must be living right or something...this is the 2nd time I have been pulled over for speeding and NOT given a ticket and the 4th time I have been pulled over for something (out of 5) and not been given a ticket. That ONE where I got a ticket was no front LP...cost me $10! Oh and I got that parking ticket the other day...that one cost me ZERO to have taken care of.

Anyway, here is a shot of EURO85 out in Taylor! Oh, and the car has been out ONE TIME looking like it does now (TODAY) and I had three compliments on it, umpteen jillion looks and all the compliments included the wheels! Thank you very much! Glad I put those on, not that I care what anyone else thinks actually, but I knew some would not like them but most would when seen in person!

Yikes- one ride- one stoppage... lucky no ticket!
In 16 years, I have been stopped ONCE in my car- and got a ticket!
I like your car, but with my luck, I'm stickin with stealth.....

EURO85 goes in for the exhaust work and cat delete tomorrow. The single out is pretty big bore and I think we will lose some Tq with it, so it may be short lived, but at least we will get the Y-pipe/Test pipe in place, so if I need to do a different exhaust later Muffin Muffler will just take care of it w/o whining. Sometimes they won't do a CAT delete...as you would expect.

Took the new and AWESOME wheels off so that the shop does not scratch the good wheels up at all...

James,
What about Tony's (Toofast928) 32V headers and x-pipe (dual)?
Thats the start of the perfect system for your Euro.
Hard to beat @ $400!!

Yea, that would be a pretty good deal I think...though some of my friends did a TON of dyno work with the 4.7L EURO quite a few years ago and built about a zillion damn exhaust systems for the car and they actually found the 2.5" pipe, with a Cat delete Y-pipe (I don't think the MSDS headers helped, but they *might* have been using the 85/86 stock header) and a single Flowmaster style can somewhere in the chain actually produced the best numbers. So, while the dual all the way back seems like it might be the better way to go (and with the X-pipe it might well be!) there is good basis in the numbers to go single all the way back...my biggest concern is LOSS of Tq because the pipe diameter we are putting in is to big. We will know soon...

Cool!

FWIW, an adjustable 85-86 hub and sprocket would allow you to cam tune in your torque.

Jim,

Very good to know...thanks mucho. Eventually I'll worry about stuff like that...right now just trying to make it as nice as it can be and reliable too. So far I think that is going pretty well...

Any thoughts on Can-Can Red 4 piece floor mat sets with black "PORSCHE" embroidered???? I figure that and then the door inserts from the '84 would REALLY be a nice accent for this car (the interior is a sea of black right now). Also considering some custom stuff in Can-Can from Paul in the long run.

BTW, the '84 will go to an ALL BLACK interior, that Can-Can w/ black and the Rudy Red exterior is just to polarizing. If it had an all back interior I probably would have actually SOLD that car instead of it still being part of the collection.
