Default Finally selling my 928 GTS project car

Most of you have seen this car before. 1993 928 GTS. Unfinished project. Currently not running post super charger install. 5 speed dual disc conversion, before super charger was dynod at 339 whp. Car was running excellent before super charger install but now is not running. I have lost my job and my favorite project must go. There is too much to this car to list. I will be happy to answer any specific questions. Car is being sold as is. Buyer must finish. I am asking $20,000 including S/C. I dont know why the car is not running. All service was up to date at the time of dyno. The S/C is a Murph stage 3 KIT. Car has not run with s/c on it. Need to sell asap due to money problems. If the car does not sell in a week i will be listing it on ebay and get what i get. These are last minute pics while the car has been sitting idle for a few months. PLEASE be nice. 484-919-0484

I dunno... looks like a major project to me. If it were running, then maybe, but a not running GTS = low dollars and slow to sell IMO.

I would take the time that you now have, and get it running right and then sell it. You'll actually get more if you un-install the SCer and sell it and the car separately.

I agree, it is not worth near as much not running.

+1 on what Andrew said. Plus it never makes sense to me when someone comes here and says a car is for sale for X, but if it doesn't sell, then off to fleabay to get what can be gotten - that is an invitation for potetnial buyers to wait to buy, in order to get the lowest possible price. You are admitting you'll take far less than $20K with that statement, in which case, why would anyone offer you $20K?
Sometimes less is more - just sayin'

If you've got to sell, and money is the objective;

Put it on ebay now, exterior picts to start with, without the super charger or non running, 10 day listing.

Pull the supercharger and get it back to stock and running, update pictures and list the super charger in a separate listing.

If you end up making a deal with somebody here, end the auction early.

If you can't get it running, end or amend the listing, but not running is going cost a LOT more than likely things to fix it will.

I'm selling the car as a whole unit with the super charger as a package because most of the work is already done. Someone on here can fix the car quickly and have 600 hp. I listed it here first to give rennlisters the chance because I feel this is a deal. I don't want to list it on ebay. There's not much on this car that needs to be sorted out.

I have to say that danglerb gave you a very good advice.

A non-running engine can mean anything from a quick fix up to major repair, and there's no way for the potential buyer to know for sure.

I perfectly understand why you want to give somone else the chance to buy an almost completed turbo project, you simply don't want to flush down the sewer all that work that's already invested. But if you want to get a good price for the car follow danglerb's advice.

Potsie, if you remove the SC and get the car running again you should be able to get about 28,000.00 for the car and about 4500.00 for the SC.
But you only want 20,000 for it not running with the SC?????

An SC'er will eliminate a good portion of buyers. A non running car w/ an SC'er will have an even smaller pool of potential buyers. From what I have seen with SC'ed cars in the past. It always makes more sense $ wide to remove the SC'er and sell it seperately. It will add to your workload before selling but it will maximize your profit. Either way, good luck with the sale. A 5 speed GTS doesn't come along too often.

Danglerb definitely makes sense. Does it also makes sense (by MrMerlin's logic) that someone who knows this car, who has 20k, can make some money by buying this for PW's asking price and getting the car running? Seems like a pretty good profit or a 15,500 + GTS (if you sell the SC and get it running/decide to keep it). Just askin'.

Yes, but why not wait until it goes on ebay and get it for an even lower price if that's the case? Refer to my earlier post. Potsie would have done better here to have left out that last detail.
