A little disappointing, but not unexpected.

If Porsche was trading a Panamera for 928's strait across, I'd still keep mine, and it needs a lot of TLC. In the looks department the 928 wins hands down, and it's an old car.

I can't understand why there are so many versions of the 911.

Because that is what consumers (with money) want...not some 30 year old clapped out 928

Well looks like I am going Mercedes all the way.

The only thing about that whole autoshow I liked was the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. That sucker is FAST. The only thing that pisses me off is that the wheels look like a wind pinwheel that my daughter keeps running around my house with.

Not sure I get your point? Consumers with money don't want a 30 year old clapped out anything.

They are wagons, well at least the new version is. The reason why they are not called wagons is because that is a US term, and not exactly a positive market angle. "Wagon" in the states gives visions of wood paneling and the Griswold's heading to Wally World with Aunt Edna on the roof.

They are simply copying Harley-Davidsons market model. Special editions and model variations (not to mention endless options) are very profitable.

Unless it has a prancing horse on the hood, then they call it "patina" and add a zero.

So there you go, the "new" 928 has been revealed. A front engine, V8 hatchback, just what you all wanted.

I guess a proper 928 auto would require a Mercedes transmission. Guess if you want a new 928, get the Mercedes.

Well, ironically you are looking at the only AMG which does not have a Mercedes transmission

It should be Getrag.

Mercedes is pretty careful to keep this information wiped off the usual places and the use "speedshift" nonsense pretending they do not do parts suppliers

I'm prolly wrong, but I was under the impression the transmission was manufactured by ZF. Like the transaxel in my Pantera.
