VERY COOL!!!

I think we need to set up a group from up here in the northeast to escort Dwayne for the final leg from PA to CT.

Anyone else in?

Ed, I'd love to do work on the Holbert car. Please keep me in mind if you need someone to do any of the small jobs. I can clean and prep with the best of them.

That would be very cool!

by the way, is there a frame shop located that will have the lazer guided system that will start pulling this chassis apart?

Where do you start with something like this?

Would make a killer article for hemmings sports & exotic, I'd think!

Great job guys, I hope the resto goes well.
An even better idea about a Salt Flats debut in 2012... That would definitely be a magazine article, make sure to take lots of pictures along the way, good luck....

+1!!
be sure to do a photo documentry of sorts of the trip and the restoration. With all the guys with ORR experience it would be cool to see it run the flats one more time with one of them behind the wheel!

BTW..i have the official Porsche Service manual for "Diagnosing body damage". It contains all the key measuring points and EXACT frame dimensions of the car to put one straight again.
if you guys need it let me know..i can scan it and send it.

I think that's a cool idea.Once the trip starts and definite stops are planned and executed we should be able to time it out fairly accurately. You all are more than welcome to meet here and wait for the arrival also if that works out better.
I see alot of "Tech Sessions" in CT in the near future.

Alternative idea....hold the OCIC in the NorthEast in 2012 and introduce the car to everyone.

There are plenty of guys in this area that have the right connections to make it happen.

With a new tub.......in my opinion any "escort" is more like a funeral procession This is the worst damaged 928 I have ever seen in person needs to be clipped from the rear seats FORWARD ! The roof is tweaked as well. Roll cage looks bent. Can it be fixed.....probably but you have to ask does it make any sense to cut parts off a straight chassis and try to weld them onto a repaired bent one ...then drive it 180 MPH. It might be well to confirm that a Euro chassis with no vin # on the right inner fender near the hood can be titled and registered in your home state before this project grows leggs. But that is just me I have little emotion when it comes to cars I only love what they can do , they are just machines. Harsh reality is that "production" car record was done with a cheater prototype running tweeked camshafts and none stock chips at a minimum.
