Default Anderson and Fan at Laguna Seca racing!

Im going out in a couple of hours to watch the qualifying and Race today
Looks like practice went well with Anderson in the 1:33s and Joe in the 1:34s
Mark still has to break out his double secret probation tires for the race!
Goal is 1:29s.
prediction 1:30.6

He is ahead of a GT3RSR that is getting faster with every session. 1:33s too.

I was there briefly this morning- Mark had gotten a new clutch hyd line for a fellow 928 racer and was changing it for him...Pretty cool when your new part comes complete with a guy to put it in for you! I complained that my new power steering pump didn't come with installation...

Yes, he is saving the new tires for qualifying.

I just whet through that thread on the racing forum.

Nothing MK wrote seemed ban-worthy.

When guys like Mark Kibort start getting banned, the Rennlist is definately on the way down and OUT. Who agrees?

Kevin, are you aware of the circumstances? I'm kinda curious as to why you jump to the conclusion that someone banned Mark for no reason.

As far as I know, Mark has been given a short vacation by a Mod who had good reason to do so. He'll be back in a couple of days.

Regards,

Without the ability to see the offending posts it's impossible to come to an independent understanding of the situation. The racing posts that are left seem harmless enough, but there's a telltale that warns of temporary ban threat if that poster and the 'American Gladiator' (likely our hero...) can'y be civil and avoid attacking each other. One of them seems to have violated whatever the terms of the warning were, and earned at least a temporary time-out. I hope that cooler heads, including MK's, ultimately prevail. I seldom agree with the technical stuff he dreams up, but I do appreciate the enthusiasm he demonstrates for keeping the model in competition. With some luck and maybe a little contrition, he'll be back after a few days of penance. Looks like the violation was in the racing forum, BTW, where they aren't as well dialed in to MK's style and personality as we have become here.

Edit: Bob, I was typing as you were typing. Hope it was for a good reason. Mark is an enthusiastic member. Be kind and patient with him please.

Anderson turned 1:30.7 in the race. Qualified on the pole and lead the entire race. Was 1/2 lap ahead of all others, when on the last lap the car had a huge backfire and started running very, very bad. He ended up winning, however. Got it back to the pits and discovered that the hot wire was broken. Put in a new set of plugs (others were very black) and a new/used hot wire. Seems fine, will confirm tomorrow.

As an added bonus, Joseph Fan was 2nd overall in the race!

Not too bad...1st and 2nd overall.

Awesome result for the guys, and their engine builder!

Gonna start drawing fire for beating the "proper" porsche's tho.

Was Mark wearing the right shoes?

GregB or anyone else out there,

Could you give us a line up on the type of other Porsches Mark A. and Joe B. beat up on? At their level of racing probably the best current crop of 996/997 Cup car variants. Must really frost those guys being beat by one of the most misunderstood Porsches ever with no racing history to speak of.

Of course Pics would be great too!

Gotta love it!

Searched a little, found no up to today info, but looks like it was a POC event and they raced in GT2.
