Bob, I just know that Mark K is a staple here and a hero to many for his racing accomplishments. There should be a food chain and consideration for long standing members who contribute more than others. I don't mean to jump to conclusions on this and I appreciate your response, but banning a member like Mark K. without extreme, and I mean extreme predjudice is very risky for I.B. as it opens doors for dissent and dismantles the cohesion among the ranks. The competing forums will eat this up as it drives existing or maybe potential members their way. I know this sounds exaggerated but it is how it begins. Banning a new or controversial member who gets out of line will draw little attention but long standing, well liked and respected one? That will draw instability and shake the foundations of this forum. Again, thanks Bob for asking my opinion .

Of course Pics would be great too!

Gotta love it!
yesterdays race had the following cars in the top 6
1988 928. Me
1987 928. Joe
2008 997 rsr Alms
2008 997 cup
2007 997 cup
2004 996 cup
todays race is at 2. I've got my fingers crossed I've fixed my problem

I wanted to thank Bill Ball and Jim Morton for getting me a transmission and Greg Brown for rebuilding it at a moments notice. It's working great.

Thanks for the info Mark A!

Yep, a lot of heavy hitter Porsche race machinery being shown the better end of not one, but two (!) Porsche 928s! Does not get any better than this! Wish I was there today.

Best wishes to both you and Joe F. for the upcoming race.

I wonder if the rest of the 928 community get what this is all about, sometimes I have my doubts...

Constantine, if they don't they should. Especially these threads where we are comparing the 928 and the 911. There was a very good reason why Porsche didn't promote or campaign our 928's, And Mark A., Mark K. and Joe Fan are proving the answer to the why. To build a car more capable than the 911 and then not campaign it was smart financially for Porsche at the time, but those engineers knew with the 928 exactly what they had built. 5-600k Cup cars being walked on by the 928. Somewhere Lapine and the rest of the design team are finally getting their satisfaction.

Glad to hear that it is working well for you. Jim provided the donor vehicle. I just helped turn wrenches.

I might have a chance to buzz down to LS to see the race today.

After seeing several POC races here at Laguna, I can tell you that Mark A and Joe are not loved by the 911 guys...they tried to get Mark DQ'd for not wearing the correct shoes last year! Can't beat him on the track, so resort to anything they can dig up...

You mean Dock shoes are not standard racing gear?

Thanks Mark A and Joe F for carrying the 928 banner........way out front.

Incredible, 20+ year old fat and lazy cruiser beating new RSR and Cup 911s by half a lap. Way to go guys.

BTW, was any in car video taken? I guess to see any of the competition it would have to be a rear facing camera, with the exception of lapped traffic.

I can't image the cup guys enjoying a battle for 3rd place, is there another big stink in the future?
