Moab looks like a good overnight stop for us, do you mind sharing the name of your restaurant there? (PM me if you would rather).

Buck's Grill House.

http://www.bucksgrillhouse.com/index.html

It's located at the north end of town near the Colorado River bridge.

I don't know if it's consistently good, since I've only eaten there twice. But both times it was the best food I've had in Moab. Ask for a seat on the patio if it's not stormy or too hot.

So, it looks like a bunch of you are passing through Albuquerque and aren't continuing down through Alamagordo, which is where I planned to meet up with Darien on Thursday morning for the final leg into Arlington.

What about the Denver crowd? You were originally going out 70 but then I thought changed to come down 25. Are you guys also turning off at Albuquerque to head east?

Ok, approx a week to get a talley on folks that is interested in a caravan and if it's feasible.

Bill and I will rendezvous and head East via hwy 82 and juncture close to Lubbock. Trying to get an idea who might be cutting across in that area so we can get a better idea where to turn South for Arlington.

Darien--

My schedule and route planniong are getting murkier rather than clearer. Just opened a contract for a project in Las Vegas. Need to make sure I can still drive to Texas. My maint list is getting shorter. I think I'll put in the new coolant reservoir since it's here. Got the rear knock sensor swapped out already. (Yes, it's quite possible to replace that sensor without emoving the intake on the S4...). After that the reservoir should be child's play, right? Need to check the tires, oil, fill with gas, go. Still need to decide what toys to bring. Too hot for golf this time of year, right? That space will get used for a wash bucket and towels I guess.

Darien,

We're planning to follow bigs' route south from Moab via US550 on Wed, either stay in Albuque and get an early start or maybe somewhere east of there to get a jump on Thurs (Fort Sunmer? Melrose? Clovis?). It's 330 miles from Lubbock to Arlington, probably less than the 5.5 hours that Google maps is suggesting... So maybe noon-ish in Lubbock?

Jim:

I'll be meeting up with Darien in Alamagordo and riding with him on 82. We might go a bit south of Lubbock. What way are you heading out of Lubbock to Arlington? 84? If so, we could meet you at Post (380/84 intersection).

Trust me I know all about the wildlife issues. Not sure Bill is aware, but when we head out 82, the first 30 miles will be mountains and we have a lot of ELK and Deer

Yes, we were thinking of getting off I40 at Santa Rosa and taking US84 through Lubbock and down to to I20 at Sweetwater. So meeting up at Post would be perfect. Maybe a lunch stop??

Cheers, Jim

Diana is having trouble with her boss about the time off. Sooo.. If she can`t go, Im free to leave anytime Weds. instead of early Thurs morning. This would give me more time to take any route I like. I will know better whats going on in a couple days.

Default Meeting Up

I`ve been looking at all the route posts and meeting up at Post,TX. (intersection of Rt 84 & Rt 380) sounds like a good plan. Like Jim, I also will spend Weds. nite somewhere between Santa Rosa on Rt 40 or further to Clovis area. Get a early start Thurs. and can meet up with Bill and Darien who are coming out of Alamogorda. Then we can decide on Rt 380 east or down to Rt 20 east into Arlington. Lets all stay hooked up on this. Should be fun. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

The monsoon season is way early this year. We are seeing temps and humidity here more typical of late August rather than late July. It's OK, that's why Joe Fridgidaire and Frank 'Freon' duPont hold positions of such high esteem, as the inventors of car air conditioninig systems.

Well its Sunday. I guess I should get my act together and think about what I`m taking to TX on Weds. Have we determined where the east bound group is going to meet up ? Are some of us meeting in Albu or vacinity on Weds. ? I`ll just bump this topic up for discussion. Kevin

Anyone from the Phoenix area going to hang around until Thursday morning? I'm actually going to be in the greater Phoenix area on business Tuesday night through Thursday morning. Rush home, repack bags, jump in car, haul-@ss to Arlington Thursday night.
