John,

Look forward to downloading latest version- I want to put the ST2 on next week to do some more logging now that we are seeing cooler temps over here in Oman.

Just let us know where to get it from- I could not see a link on your website/ST2 section yet.

Kindest regards

Fred

Hi John,
What a great array of ST2 improvements and making overall operation smoother. Many thinks to you and Niklas.

Great job, John-- kudo's to you and Niklas!!

The new logging features are particularly nice-- I literally hooked up the computer, loaded-from-PEM's, selected the logging page and clicked "Start"-- then went for a drive. Into town, stopped for gas, stopped at the store, ran another errand, drove home via the backroads, and never touched the computer. It just sat there logging whenever the engine was running, rolling over to a new log every 16 min or so. When I got home I unplugged it and took it inside, saved the files and checked it out with Sharkplotter -- sweet!!

Hi Jim
All SharkTuner owners have been contacted by Jim Corenman and supplied with the companion SharkPlotter program he has developed. In that sense they are "registered".

However, this upgrade is being isuued for ST2 only.

Given that I haven't played with our 'co-op' STII I can't wait to see what this thing does.

If I had a dyno nearby I loved to do a before and after.

Hi John,

I seem to be having an issue with the latest update. I noticed my load is maxing out at WOT. I thought that it may be my EZK file, so I loaded a new default EZK map for GT and SuperMAF. But once it was done loading, it was still maxing load at WOT and it says GTS on the EPROM tab instead of GT, which may be part of the problem? I know my SuperMAF is working well because the MAF values at WOT on the fuel tab follow the same pattern throughout the RPM range as before (my standard MAF would be very close to the bottom the whole range).

Hello Dan
As far as I can see the load value on the SMAF GT EZK map is working OK, it hits 100% when translated SMAF volts = 5v which is like 6.5v from a stock MAF.

I assume you mean to EZK load values are not as you remember ? Are you saying the EZK load value is hitting 100% early, and being compressed over a range of loads near WOT ?

I will check to see why the name of the file is incorrect.

Which Version file were you using previously ?

I was using v6.0.5 before. v6.0.9 upgraded my sharktuner firmware to 6.003 I believe.

What I mean is when I do a WOT run and log it, the EZK load value is always maxed at 100%. I had the same results with the standard MAF and maps. When I first got the SMAF and SMAF maps, the EZK load value at WOT was around 60 - 70%. I will log SMAF voltage at WOT, although MAF values logged for the fuel map are not behaving like a standard MAF. It may be a while though because the car just went up on ramps for a DD clutch retrofit.

Hi Dan
I have checked Ver 605 vs 609 on the bench here tonight and see no differences in EZK SMAF load values. between the two.

Do you have any logs with MAF signal absolute and EZK load with the 609 files ?

I think the name error with the GT EZK map is just a typo, but am checking with Niklas.

It is normal for the stock MAF EZK load to easily hit 100%.

The problem with the GT SMAF EZK file is fixed. Thanks to Dan for finding it - very embarassing ...

I have emailed the updated EXE file to Dan. This new Verion is 6.0.10. All other registered ST2 owners will be emailed the update.

Ran into a a couple interesting problems this weekend and wanted to see if there was any sage advice.

#1. (Sorry no pic) When I tried to install the PEM into the EZK of an early '87, I couldn't re-assemble the EZK. THere was an eztra PCB that prevented me from putting is back together properly. I was able to "slip" the boards and put it back in the case, but wanted to know other people experiences here.

#2 This was the first time I've tried the ST2 on an earlier car (87/88). When I plugged into the diagnostic port, I don't get any power. I was looking at the cable vs. port, and the pinouts don't seem to match. Wondering if this is an anomoly with the cable or the car? I'm going to try it on my '87 this week (if the weather holds) to see if it works in that car.

In particular Pin #5 does looks to go to an empty socket.
