Bill,
If you have some pictures handy on your computer, I'd love to see what you have done.
Mark,
Here's how I ran the lines for my car, used a Mocal 34-row w/ -12 AN lines.

The stock fittings that go into the block use a copper crush ring. The stock oil lines have an angled seat on both ends.

Word of caution - if/when you remove those steel fittings that go into the engine , be very gentle with them. You *could* discover damage to the aluminum threads in block from past over-tightening.... (like i did) Reference my previous thread to see. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...r-rebuild.html

Anyone sourced metric to AN fittings to allow use of braided lines for an external oil cooler? What size AN line is recommended, -10 or -12?

And to take the inquiry one step further, is it recommended to keep the stock male/male fittings in place and just get four (4) M26x1.25 female to AN-12 adapters, or to remove the stock fittings from the block and rad and get two (2) M20x1.5 male to AN-12 (radiator) and two (2) M22x1.5 male to AN-12 (block) fittings?

I'm presuming these are correct sizes from the prior posts.

928 Motorsports has the AN conversion fittings available at the motor, radiator, or both.

Thanks for the post rifitz.

It looks like those are for AN -10 lines, instead of AN-12?

-10 AN Hose Inside Diameter (in): 0.563 in / 14.30 mm
-12 AN Hose Inside Diameter (in): 0.690 in / 17.53 mm

Looks like stock may be 16mm ID?

Since the oil cooler is a restriction anyway, maybe the reduction in hose size isn't critical?

Female metric to male AN are very difficult to find.....I'm deep into the metric hose and fitting business and know of no one that has these. People have had the 30mm Porsche oil cooler fitting custom made and I sell an large amount of these (30mm female to -12 and -16 male.)

While I know it sucks to have to remove the male fitting from the block (this almost always results in the end of the thread in the block fracturing, which can make resealing a real problem, unless you know how.)

I've had the 16mm deep female fitting used on the fuel systems custom made with both -6 and -8 male ends, but have not done the 928 oil cooler fittings.

I've got every size male/male metric to AN fitting you could ever imagine, in stock. Everything from -3x3mm to -16x30mm.

I wrap them in blue painters tape before torquing.
