Way to keep keepin' on Adam!
You're certainly an inspiration. Once I start working again its going to be difficult for me not to start looking for a budget 928 track car.
Let's see, I already have a Sparco fixed back seat, an extra set of 18" twists, all the local enablers you could ever want...

Thanks to Tom M. for helping with the latest addition - Jim Mayzurk's GTS rear brake calipers with stainless steel brake lines.
These babies were spotless. Much too pretty for a track car.

And now, the front brakes. Had some issues with the front rotor placement. For the thread on it click here.
So, brand new 993 rotors were a budget busting $208.50.
From the front disc install I know I'm also going to be in for a set of front wheel bearings in short order.
Adapter and Caliper mounting bolts are on loan from Ken Osage.

I will be making some calls tomorrow about some tires guys.
And Tom I am not willing to put the slicks on the 87 5 speed. Not without oiling mods!

Stock S4 rims and the 993 twists scraped the front calipers upon installation. I put some 3mm thick washers on the wheel studs and they appear to give enough clearance that I shouldn't have any more issues.
It is very nice to have some decent brakes on this car. I still miss the additional power assist of the S4 booster/master cylinder, but brakes are still awesome. I would rate them second only to an S4, and third to my S4 with big reds all the way around. I suppose it is very likely I will be more happy without the additional power assist when I get back out on the track with this beast and run with track pads for the first time in my own track experience.
Also, dropped in on Ken Osage last night, and he wired up a relay to my engine fan so now I can actually run it for longer than two minutes without the toggle switch smoking.

Doing some more interior work.
Ken working the plasma cutter and removing the inner door.
All done.
No pics, but thanks to Tom M. for letting me tap into his lexan supply and to cut out some side windows. Mark Jacobson let us do the operation in his garage and John Davis helped guide the cutting. Sorry no pics, but a pretty painless process overall. The stock glass angles up from about the mid point along the bottom to the front edge. John suggested leaving the bottom edge flat, and also leaving material at the front lower corner and the bend on the rear edge. All this extra material provides for a nice fit in the window hole:
And, lastly, my stock shifter handle was tearing up the side. Didn't even realize it until I grabbed the shift **** and practically ripped it off the shfter shaft. So, I went a little ricer...
