Default The tragic death of Leeroy...who saved my life while dying:(

Hey guys, long time no talk... I have a sad sad Leeroy Story...
1st for those who dont know me...My name is Lisa, I was the proud owner of a 928, 1984, beautiful car, whom I had a total love affair with.
It took me over 6 months to save for him, and over 6 months to find him. When I did I flew to San Fran to pick him up & have been in love ever since.
I had a prob with a mechanic a few months ago, & everyone on here was So helpful. Since then I found a trusted mechanic & wonderful guys on here, who taught me tons & showed me the ropes.
Now the sad part: Last week I was heading form temecula to LA (a 2 hour drive). On the 5 freeway, smoke started to enter the car. I couldnt see anything smoking around the hood, but it was filling up fast, so I headed for the off ramp. Going 60mph, I cut three lanes & went to slow down to exit, but I HAD NO BRAKES. And when I looked up through the smoke I saw a off ramp, with a brick wall at the end, meaning I needed to turn right or left, INTO A RED LIGHT!!! I could barely see with all the smoke, so I rant he light, made a left, hit the curb which slowed me down...weeved in & out of traffic, saw my hood light up in flames, pulled over & jumped out...
The entire hood was up in flames when the fire dept & police came...
Thank God I was ok, & I didnt hurt anyone else..Having said that, I am in complete mourning over my loss of Leeroy.
He is now parked (in the backyard of a lady who stopped to help me) (who says there are no nice people left in this world).
I need advice on selling the parts. He was in wonderful shape. The interior is beautiful, etc.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GUIDANCE..xox Lisa*~

First and foremost your ok so thats the main thing. A very scary ride.

As to the issue; smoke/fire and no brakes.............I'm thinking fuel line which leaked causing the fire which in turn resulted in brake failure.

Can you tell if its repairable?

Sorry for your loss.

Could it have been the fuel lines? Glad you made it out ok.

Yikes! It sounds like "Leeroy" almost took your life instead of saved it. Thank God you weren't hurt.

The fire melted through the whole left side...hood, wheel, & all... The right side hood is burnt but other damage. Just the driver side. As far as relapcing it...The fire men said it was totalled...beyond that Im not sure!!!
I know the engine, the inside & back still have great parts some people can use

Lisa as you probably know we buy distressed 928's if you want to explore that as an option.

Hi Mr Mark
I would like to know what my options are. I had a mechanic who bought a 928 two weeks ago, go look at it. He would like the engine. Is Leeroy better sold as a whole? Or piece him up and sell the parts?

You will get more as parts at this point. But do you have the room to store it?

Checking the wallet for money before the body is even cold.
