Rain from 6pm Thursday until 3pm Friday with over 1/2 an inch of rain on Thursday alone.....
I'm bummed. I love the challenge of driving on the track in the rain.

That forecast looks evil by West Coast standards.

Too bad Brian, I was looking forward to seeing your dedicated track shark "The Black Widow "

I just got off the phone with Charley & Paul, both are headed up in the morning, Steve and I are headed up tonight. I'll check in with Bill as well

Revised roll call

Brian - out due to wet weather
Charley - Headed up in the morning
Paul (Z06) - Headed up in the morning
Edco (matt) - Headed up tonight
StevenB - Headed up tonight with me - look for a white 335I and a White S4
Dennis - Has to work, sorry Dennis sounds like you were looking forward to a wet day

Brian you can always bring the M3 looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning.

Matt

So, we have made it to Willows for the track day. Weather looks to be improving with only a 60% chance of rain for tomorrow. Too bad you are not going to be here Brian. By the way, if you have a cover parking spot reserved, can Charlie use it?

Quick update on the brave guys......it seems the rain held off until at least lunch...which is good...so the guys only had to deal with a cold wet track (just over freezing).....

One guy did manage to spin......in Gerry's favorite spot......but thats okay I spun the widow its 1st time out too.....

It was a great day at Thunderhill. The NCRC method of no frills, bare bones pricing is a winner. We only had rain for one of the five sessions and that turned out to be the best outing of the day. It wasn't a heavy rain, I didn't even roll up my window, but it sure made things interesting. I saw more cars taking off track excursions today than I've seen all together in five years of DE's. I managed to get crossed up coming through 14 and caught a glimpse of Jesus, but somehow was able to catch it without further humbling.

I wouldn't recommend my Sumoitomos for normal track use but they did turn out to be pretty good rain tires.

My only complaint was that it was really cold. On the plus side, I was able to run all five sessions and the Euro never came close to overheating.

During the last session I had a very bad stumble accelerating out of a slow, 2nd gear, left hand turn on the last few laps, some kind of fuel issue. I had noticed it seemed to fall off above 5500 all day but I had a passenger most of the time, so didn't pay a lot of attention. On the way home it had no power and could barely get to 70mph. I noticed that it ran a little better with a full tank than a half a tank. I'll start with the pump and filter and go from there.

Matt and Steven B came out for the first time and did really well. I think they're hooked. It bodes well for a good 928 contingent at the local tracks in the future.

We missed Brian, I haven't seen the Widow yet and was looking forward to it. Oh well, next time.

Glad you had a good, safe time out there! wish i could have made it.

I think my next race will be end of march, but i would like to do one more day of testing, so maybe we can all get out there on the 21st.
