Have you got the VIN #? We can tell you a whole lot more with that piece of information. Also, look in the rear cargo area under the carpet for a sticker which can give you the option codes for that car. (I think they were there in 1981?)

There is a really nice white/lipstick red '86.5 for sale by one of our own right here for $3500. Any POS 928 will cost you that much just to figure out what is wrong with it. This car is fully functional as I understand it and any problems are already known... If it were closer to me I would already own it!

Damn Jason!!! Calm down! Maybe 944J has no knowledge whatever of 928's. Maybe he's just asking, like you know, if a 928 has 4 wheels and tires....or.....what type of engine is in a 928 or something like that! He/she is gonna think that we are not a helpful bunch now. Take your blood pressure meds now and think happy thoughts.
Good one Jim. Your post probably says it all.

The very worst reason to buy a 928 is because it is "cheap" .... and few should buy one to flip it . Todd "Lowmiler" and Whilhoit are about the only two people I know who have consistantly made money on 928s....

if it's a "real POS" as you say it's probably worth less than $1300.
If you really want to know more about the cars, this page here is pretty good as a starter.
