NEW COST EFFECTIVE PRODUCT - Fuel Rail Pressure Gauge
#91
The seal of a tapped original nut is better, but doesnt emulate the original due to the "ball" not doing the sealing. those german nuts are pretty tough.
the threaded adapters might not have the same tollerances and dont seal well enough, even with the "o"ring. Im sure a little teflon tape could fix that, and i might use some just for my tests as I just dont like a drip , drip drip of gas coming out.
I have a shreader valve that was supposed to be used in SCCA racing, and has the same threads as the fuel gauge. but, i aint going to use it until i get a threaded nut that is tapped from the stock nut. (SCCA agrees and lets me off, especially since fuel checking is not reall done with our class, though it could be as we need to use unleaded street gas)

Hi Mark,
The ball is inside the special machined adapter. It is machined into the adapter. Monobloc.
Never seen a leak on the older style where we drilled and tapped the original nut.
This emulates the original seal 100%. If the original nut did not leak neither will this.
Up to the personal user if they want to leave it on there permantly or not.

Seems pretty poka yoked to me. Nice job Roger. FWIW, I have 7 + experience with the ole liquid teflon method on 3 cars with no leaks, but I think I should upgrade my setups to Roger's new one, as extra safety measure. I must admit that tape always leaked, but not the liquid. Also FWIW, the only time the gauge is useful is when troubleshooting no start issues or assessing injector leakage, all of which are important to save time.

Mark,
I think you missed the point. The adapter has the ball in it and does not use an O ring.
Exactly the same as the original nut and ball. How would a nut on its own be better?
Glad I took the time to post the photograph of the adapter 8>)
That is the whole reason why we spent all this time and effort to copy 100% the original design.

Well at least there wasn't a suggestion to fill with Amzoil although one can use glycerin. I used some to refill my FPG when it lost some fluid during the intake R&R.
