So, I guess the brain decided that the signal it was getting was not bad, but solid knocks. New sensor fixed it.

Off topic: Bill.......I'm driving up to Berkeley this weekend to drop my son off at school. You want me to come by and take that Norton off your hands?
Excellent news about Mark's car!

Off-topic: Berkeley? UC? You're letting your son go to that den of iniquity? I should know, I graduated from there, but I didn't inhale. All kidding aside, it's (still) a great school and almost impossible to get into unlike when I went to it.

Too bad I'll be at the track watching Mark or we could have gone out for a ride on the Norton (picture below) and one of my CBX's.

Bill,

Be careful on McKean, there was a fatality there a few months back involving a local and a speeding kid and the radar presence has been pretty stifling ever since.

Bill,
I had one like that or pretty similar back in Blighty many years ago.
Also a T6 pre unit Triumph - showing my age now.

I've never seen a knock sensor act like this one....not sure what was going on. It would not load as a fault. The brain, apparently just thought that the engine was knocking very badly. It loaded the "knock sensor section" with solid 6's all the way across and ran the timing very retarded.

I started down this path the other night when I disconnected both knock sensors while on the dyno, without any change in the power. Good clue that the timing is retarded.

Off Topic:

Yes, it is his second year at Cal. The school is certainly still a bit to the "left". Heck, we have to cover our NRA decals and take out the gun racks when we drive up there! Honestly, I'm looking for a nice '75 Norton to buy...keep your eyes open. I've got a pile of Triumphs and Ariels with a splattering of Enfields and others. Even have a Rickman.

Kevin:

We're going to hit your exit (Santa Teresa) in Gilroy about 10-10:15. We're not taking the backroads. I'll be with Jim in his car (Black GTS). My SC is still on the floor. We'll get off and wait for you. I'll send you an email about this with my phone number.
