We will have 3rd coast here in Nov so come on down to Texas and has come good BBQ, enjoy some wonderful Hill Country roads, and come see Blue82 and all her friends at the Morrison house!

Thanks Kie this car is SPECTACULAR! You are right about the tires...they are NOT ROUND anymore! Thankfully I have a very large number of wheels and tires to choose from!

Thanks to all those who were wise counsel and good friends who understand the importance of these time capsules and for the suggestions for cosmoline removal!

Enjoy the pics guys! Many more to come! Probably start a new thread about this car.
A dream come true for James, congrats bro, I'm extremely happy for you!

Way to follow your dream, James. Good on ya.

Who was the transporter?

Don't forget a first drive report. Devil's Backbone on a nice day?

I really excited. I was bummed when I thought this car was going overseas. Now I don't have to fly as far to see it.
Congrats James. No better should it have gone to... well.. except....

Thanks everyone! Kie has really been good to work with on this too so I have no complaints on this one AT ALL! That has not always been the case with my sight unseen purchases, but this one is more than I could have ever hoped for really! As Nicole and my wife know I have been looking for a factory original in this color for a LONG TIME! Since I could not find it I painted my race car this color instead.

Well, it will be a show car FOR SURE! Its first win is coming up Oct 4th at our local PCA Hill Country Regions Porschedillo Concours! It will get driven to that event. Now the bad news is that Kie was absolutely right about the tires on this car! They are NOT ROUND! So, I will have to figure something out for that...

Anyone have a decent set of 7" wide 16" flat disc wheels sitting around they want to part with??? I would put good new rubber on the car and then take the originals with me to BIG SHOWS (not local stuff though) and put them on when I get there. Basically anytime I am trailering, I would take the car w/ the original wheels...driving (rarely) the extra set w/ new rubber.

Someone tell me what color these wheels are too... They are VERY interesting. Not platinum, that is BRIGHT silver, not gold, did Porsche do a Pewter??? That is about the only thing I can think of that I would call this wheel color.

I wonder if I could send a set of my phone dials off to Wheel Enhancement, pay a few bucks, and get a set of pewter flats back from them??? They would be like new (these original wheels have a couple of scratches...ok, I counted one each on two different wheels!) and better than what I have...but that probably would not last...never does if you drive a car!

As for track days...NOT in this car. It will be hard for me to keep it off track, but I will. Well, that said, I would do Parade laps in this car! It is more the miles than the driving on a car like this. Not to mention the early cars have REALLY hard brakes. You really have to push HARD on them to get them to slow down...not good for me, makes my shoulders hurt!

James - I had a felling you got this one, but the "other country" stuff threw me off at first. Congratulations! It couldn't have gone to a more worthy caretaker and enthusiast! That car is absolutely gorgeous! I'm glad you will keep it as she is, with little miles put on it. I honestly don't know now which I'd rather have (if I even had such a choice!) - Kermit or Blue 82!
Lokks like now I will have to figure a way to get to the OCIC next year - anyone driving down from upper NW?

Congrats! She looks at home in your garage, and it certainly seems fitting that she is now yours.

James finding a set of wheels should be easy.

Do you have leatherique for the interior? Will make the dash and seats look awesome and even softer than they are!

Thanks everyone! She is AWESOME! Needs nothing but a good home and a gentle touch! There will be plenty of that in my A/Ced garage for her for decades to come.

Ed, I agree with you! Kermit has less than half the miles of Blue82 and is more significant due to it being a first model year car and having the Pasha interior, etc. From a condition perspective, they are virtually identical. They are BOTH NEW CARS! There is no other way to describe them.

The best thing would to be REALLY, REALLY wealthy and own BOTH OF THEM! Then add Bob's '89 GT and last but not least find a SUPER LOW miles GTS (there is bound to be one out there) and have all four body styles just as though they were brand new.

As noted earlier, if you do that then you have four GORGEOUS cars that you really can't (or shouldn't) drive. These cars are time capsules to be kept as original and loved accordingly.

Maybe we can talk Chuck in to the VERY LONG TOW from NC down to D/FW for '09 OCIC! I would LOVE to park Blue82 next to Kermit! Other than '89 GT there are no better 928's in the USA than these two!

Thanks again everyone! I am still on cloud 9 with this one! Even my wife loves it!

Does a Bear crap in the woods? This car is in exceptional hands, and i'm sorry I can't help James get the others back to the level they should be at for the upcoming shows. Not to say they aren't still all VERY nice, but James is a bit picky! It's rubbed off on me unfortunately! Miss workin' on the cars with ya bro!

Default Thanks James... be kind to her!

Hey how do you like the logbook? Will you be making an an entry each and every time you take her out? Remember to pencil me in from 3488 to 3537. Details available upon request.

By the way have you seen my friend? This is the last time I saw her. She said something about not coming out until the new owner showed her some of the features unique to a 928...

James,
The finish on those wheels looks like that on the wheels on my '83.

Not polished, not chromed - pewter's a good description. I like 'em better that way, I think there was a reason Porsche didn't use "shiny" on the cars.
