OB barn find!

Kie,
I think if you sell this car, you don't really love 928s. Nearly everyone on this list would give their right, uh, shall we say ARM, to keep it clean, for that car. I don't even think Chuck Z could bring himself to sell Kermit unless someone dynamited it from his dead, rigored bloody fingers for a serious amount of insane cash. I know everything is negotiable and you apparently have done well making business decisions based on your continued business enterprise, but really, dude, that car is not just a car you stumbled onto to flip for some quick cash. It is really what they mean when they say barn find.
Forgive me for being cavalier, I don't mean it, but given your smokin' girlfriend, your Lambo, this 928, your business. You're like that Bruce Willis character who can't be hurt. It's like your unbreakable. Bad stuff just doesn't happen to you.
Short answer: you don't know what you got until you lose it. You'll have to ask yourself if your enough of a 928 lover to keep it. Keep the 928. Don't flip it.

Kie, try to understand the unique combination of frustration and elation being expressed here as a natural product of us witnessing your lucky find, and let the questioning of your love and loyalty slide off your back...
I'm with you - I love the 928, but I wouldn't keep this one if I found it. It's just not to my tastes. I would sell it to fund the purchase of the 928 that I really want!

Good question. Chuck may have bounced it off him.
Wonder who Jay's Bird-dog is for his collection. Leno has a genuine appreciation for unique cars regardless of any status that they may or may not possess. An original Mazda Cosmo and a '66 Toronado. Unique cars in their own right. I envy his abilitie$ to hop into something cool and different every day.
A first gen. 928 time capsule would certainly fit right in to his collection - right next to his Carrera GT.
Plus I'd love to see a 928 featured in Jay's Wheels or whatever it's called.

I'm very, very sleeeeepy~
But hey that was fun! The photographer from excellence was a total pro, and we had perfect weather for the shoot. The guy did not even mind that another friend/photographer showed up to take some stills. Turns out they knew each other from 15 years ago in the 'biz. Seattle is SUCH a small world. And of course my 'gal was running around with a Canon PowerShot which didn't phase him either.
My friend ended up driving the excellence photographer around in my gal's Miata all tour 'de france style for the "action" shots of her and I racing (exceeding 18 mph at times) around Carkeek Park in Seattle. Who knew rollbars made such worthy tripods?
Can't really say much about what the article will have in it for text, since at this point I have no idea. I can tell you the pics are going to be tremendous. Whoever belongs to this 928 in the future will have quite the scrapbook that much I can say.
On another note I'm happy to say the car ran like a top throughout. I must of turned it on and off like 50 times. Sat there and idled away while we fussed around seeking perfect positioning time and again. She now shows 3537 miles and that is it for me boys and girls. No more joy rides or anything of the sort. In and out of my shop from now on only when necessary, and perhaps into a transport to go into long term storage if she ends up staying mine for a long time.
I'm not going to attach too many of my pics from this morning out of respect for the upcoming article. Here are a few, they were taken with my little point & shoot Canon. These were NOT taken by the excellence photographer:

See that 599 Ferrari...take a good close look at it... Anything wrong w/ that car???
Can you see it????
What is it????
I know the car looks PERFECT doesn't it???
Well, it is a MODEL! It is an unbelievable one! I looked at a shot of the interior of this model and I thought it was a pic of the REAL CAR! WOW! This was commissioned by the owner of a car that looks EXACTLY like this car...so there is at least ONE 599 in this VERY COOL COLOR!

Don't butter me up now James! And darn it remember to breathe... don't want to have to call Texas 911 for a 928 sensory overload emergency

Nice pictures! So - I noticed that in the last one there the Porsche crest on the hood has some discoloration. My '79 hood ornament looks almost exactly the same. So, is this a common thing?

Isn't that an automatic "FAIL" in concours. No way can a car with so little mileage have a hood badge that is ..lets say "experienced" ? LOL....
Looking good Kie...now just photoshop out that big ole white sign in the background..
P.S. Along the Risky Business lines..that hood photo shot could easily be made into the "poster" that Joel had in his bedroom..(yea..I know it was red)..but it could be done...
