I guess I'm going to have to go to post #1 and read all 27 pages! Not much happening here at work anyways!

I was gonna say something about the first model and then got to the Freebird's shot...

I think you need some rear spacers my friend. I happen to have some...

Another interesting thing about this car is the dealer installed the finest car stereo and alarm money could buy back in '82! Some of you old guys like me will remember the Concorde stereo and the Ungo box! They also installed some really nice speakers and amps in the floor board behind the rear seats. The interesting stuff about this is that the receipt for this install was included with the car, BUT all (I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE) prices were CUT out of the receipt! LOL! I guess they didn't want the new owner to know how much extra they had bumped the price on that install! LOL!

Hey James, a few questions for ya...

Are those Boge "greens" one the front, and "gold-plated" shocks on the rear? What type are the rears?

Do you have the original Pirelli P7's in storage?

Jim, the shocks are the stock factory shocks and this is a competition pkg car, so they should be a sportier shock than standard on an OB '82.

I do have the original P7's on the original wheels in storage. They are FOR SURE not very round and also quite dry rotted so you can not drive on them other than the take the car on and off the trailer and through a parking lot to a show site.

Bought a really nice matching second set of wheels and put new rubber on those so the car CAN actually be driven from time to time...

Oh, Nicole... NO YOU CAN'T take her for a spin! LOL!

For everyone wondering, YES, the interior is a VERY nice place to sit! Like a freaking time capsule.

You learn something new every day. I had no idea Freebirds has become a chain.

The original is in Isla Vista (Santa Barbara), and it's the only one not listed in Locations on the Freebirds corporate site.

How right you are. There were a couple of friends that started (at least this is my understanding) and a couple involved in the first one wanted to come to A&M and set up one of their own. (Not sure WHY they wanted to do it there, but they did) It was a HUGE success. That couple opened about 5 or 6 more and then sold "their chain" to a corporation who has really taken off with it the last 4 or 5 years now I guess...

I used to know that couple a long time ago, but have lost touch with them completely. LOVE FB's though! That first location was never theirs to sell, so that is why it is not part of the "parent" company though technically IT gave birth to ALL FB's!

Funny how things work huh?! I know that first one in TX at A&M was opened in like '92...

Well friends I can't believe I am typing this but I am considering passing BLU82 on to the next care taker... It will cost a small fortune (but nothing like the 3 '95 GTS's that are currently [or recently] on ebay) to pry the keys out of my hands, but I am considering it seriously.

I have kept BLU82 safe and sound for the last 3.5+ years and I love her dearly, but it is a love hate relationship. I refuse to put more than about 25 miles a year on a car that has this low miles (3rd lowest that I know of in the USA! Currently 3713) and all I want to do every time I go out to the garage is drive her! When I do go for a spin it is just AMAZING! LIKE NEW is all I can say...smell, feel, look, everything is like new. A/C blows cold, everything works...just yummy.

Anyway, if you have serious cash burning a hole in your pocket and can't live without this car in your collection shoot me a PM.
