That would go great for the lettering wouldn't it?

I love that stuff! Purple is my favorite color! (in case you couldn't tell) I've been contemplating using that metallic purple on my intake spiders. Maybe paint a couple of eyes on the round thingie in the middle.

Wouldn't that look super cool??

(Don't get your panties in a bunch, my watchdog tells me I wouldn't make it back into the house before he had it cleaned off with carb cleaner. The old meanie.

*But whyyyy can't I have a purple spider under my hood, honeeeeeeey???? Pleeeease?* )

Ok, got **** all day long from Doc and Roger and my wife, but here is the car back together. I don't think it looks too loud, I kinda like it.

Need to do the lettering and will put in an order to Nicole.

Sorry Sean...not a fan. The car is dark blue right, then you have those blue wires and the only other thing that is yellow is the dirty oil fill lid and the top of the dip stick. They look better than being dirty though, I'll give you that... Maybe if you did the lettering on the intake (or some of it anyway) in yellow that would add just the right accent for it all to come together!

I know, knew I was going out on a limb by doing it.

Are you going to make an appearance at 3rd coast in 2 weeks? We will only be 34 miles from you.

Sean--

Pull the oil filler cap and the dipstick, take them to the garage sink where there's some Comet and a small scrub brush. Water from the sink onto the cap. Comet onto the cap. Scrub brush onto the cap. Water onto the cap. In case you didn't notice, it's all about the cap. Then do the yellow part of the dipstick the same way. When both are clean, you have option to spray the cap with clear to keep it clean but also shiny, or just a simple bit of wax. These will keep the oily fingerprints from showing up. That will save on the Comet bill if nothing else.

Oh, BTW... The local Rite-Aid drugstore has some really cheap nail polish, like a buck or two in the simple colors. Get a red and a yellow. These allow you to 'replace' the factory QC marks on components like the dipstick and cap. On my '89, Fritz used red on those parts. Just a little dot will do it. What's the yellow for? Structural bolts have yellow on them. Like the capscrews that hold the crossbrace, for instance. It's a simple enhancement.

Thanks Dr Bob, I just might do that. I've had both in my sonic washer many times and it doesn't work. I'll give the comet a try. Neat idea on the nail polish. Ang might have some here.

Sean--

I --strongly-- recommend that you invest a few of your hard-earned dollars in your own bottles of cheap nail polish. You'll save it back a hundred-fold against the excitement that would be generated by using some of her personal high-dollar designer stuff on a (gasp!) car part. OK to loan your to her, but not the other way around. Use this lesson well, grasshopper! Education beats experience on this, trust me.

I think the yellow looks good. You could use gray lettering on the valve covers to match the intake/cross bar. It is something diferent W/ the yellow which is cool to see.

Been down that path before, I just try to sneak it out but do get a reaming when caught.

Shamelessly stolen from RLOT. Look at the customer review on the page. Sean? What's the story here?

Is the car together? Did you run the hammer on it? What was the result? Can you do the normalize again? What are the current symptoms? Maybe start a new thread with an appropriate title? Can I ask more questions?
