Default The New Thread (928 community chat)

The other thread is gone and I won't go into details as to why it went away, it's old news.

Here's a new one for us to continue discussing what we are doing to our 928's, in our community, w/o calling someone a name that would peeve off others.

So, what are you guys doing tonight with your cars/lives?

I'm washing and cleaning both of ours and cleaning parts that kinda need to be cleaned, but no body will notice them. Wife and kid are in watching Ghost Hunters and I get to hang out in the garage.

That and I'm bored and miss the chit chat we had for the past few months.

Sean,

Rather than hanging in your garage, zip on over here to Falls Church, VA and I'll buy you a beer at our local brewpub, "Dogfish Head". Strange name, great beer.

I figure in your 928, you'll be here from TX in no time.

I think that pretty much sums up what most of us think on a daily basis, when we've got the time to think.

You have to make it up the the Peak race this year. I don't know if you saw it previously, but there was a 928 that ran the Peak. Did really well in the open class.

*********

I put new shoes on the '88 after a botched alignment session. Discount tire was not much help on getting me the tires I wanted, quickly, so I settled for 225's up front and 275's in the rear.

I like 'em, even if they are only BFG G-Force Sports......

I usually make it but was out of town last year.

Do you know if it will be out again this year?

If you've never been to Colorado it is a shark owner's paradise with all the beautiful twisty road and all.

I'm with my 11 yr old daughter and her two friends who are over for her 11th birthday party sleepover. Mom is on an errand. The girls are watching a movie.

I'm web surfing, looking for dirt bikes, and then spotted a '78 Euro cheap locally on cl, so I was researching Euros on here to see if they made any '78 300 hp ones, and how can I identify them.

Then I saw this thread and got all distracted.

thinking about tomorrow - picked up a used set of lift bars at SITM, and as soon as I got home Sunday night, tossed it up and pulled the wheels for no damn good reason other than I could easily do so now.
Anyway, tomorrow, spray the brake pads with CRC dampener to quiet them down, clean the calipers, and wait for my stainless y connector to get here from Nicole (I had a jury rig fix to the old one, but it's time to replace)....anyway, nice thread - seems like all of us here think about our sharks whenever we can, and just fuss and fiddle with them for good reason or no reason....

Spent 2 weeks every year in Colorado from the time I was 2 until about 3 years ago. Lots of memories and I've got a few (lots) of roads I want to take the 928 on. Check out this link and it will give you the details.........get the book. It's a great read. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...light=928+book

Lift bars are a gift from the 928 gods. I've done the same.... Last weekend to be exact, for the 10th time. Thinking to myself "why not put her up and give her feet a rest, let's see what I can clean under there...........OMG...........this will take 2 days........Projects begin this way.

Just finished prepping for my first show tomorrow. Completed the wheel wells, touched up the crests on my center caps, cleaned the engine and did a final wipe down.

What a long week of preperation....but I enjoyed every minute of it!

Having a Gin & Tonic now
