Secretly you were awestruck by the sheer power of the super auto S4.
Your just using ABA as an exscuse - you loved every miniute of the drive.

Actually, I did like the way it shifted. It was solid and no hesitation once underway. Now, if you could only put a set of GT cams, LH, EZK, Bilsteins, sway bars, and wider wheels on it you'd have something nice.

You can't get anything wider on that thing. 315's on the rear.

Not digging in to the black one today, house work then some Octoberfest tonight. I'll start on it tomorrow. Thinking fuel filter first.

Nope, plenty of fuel flow once you're on it hard. It revs right up to 4000+ under load so you've got pressure to the rails. It's a metering issue.

That sounds right. What about leakinging injectors? How's the exhaust smell at idle?

I'm a few miles from the Texas border, and don't hear a thing. Is everything OK over there?

Just got home from SF.....aired the tires, filled with 100/91 octane.....meeting up with a group @ 6:00am for another running of the "Targa Palomar".

Time again to show the 997's/996's and a Ruf TT, how well an ol' '84 can run up and down a hill.

Sorry Brad but gonna have to pass. We took two vehicles for the 928 day and the gas was crazy. I'm going to try to be at the next one. Wish I could be there though. I love seeing every one. It's such a good group of friends I always have a blast.

did the bakersfield AX on sunday. almost was run over by a kid in a mustang when he lost it - stopped 2 feet from hitting me w/locked up brakes! was a real exciting moment considering how I'd look as a grill ornament on a ferd. very next lap he spun there again! I'd already moved further down into the turn for that one

gal spun her new vett at 90+ . was a real specticle to watch. unscathed but shaken. great course, overall time was from a stock cayman w/khumos! he beat out a GT2 that was totally tricked out/race prepped - by 2 sec! there was a guy in a 69 Z28 w/a "stock" 302, pristine car. slowest of the day, but was the top dog in the pits.

timing lights were messed up for my last timed run... had to repeat it 3x more times! managed to knock off another second by the time they got it right, but I was whipped after flogging it around the 1.4mi track 9 laps in a row at the limits. sure got my $$'s worth, hahaha.

the old 928 represented well, pulled a 1st place class win and was in the top 25% overall too. lots of folks liked the old u-boat and the "NASCAR - Porsche" sound always gets lots of kudos at these events. good group of folks, tri-tip lunch and perfect weather made for a great day of driving fun.

next week is the last PCA AX of the season at willow springs, on a MONDAY! if you're ever wanted to play at the track- this is the perfect event: willow springs w/a 928 while blowing off work
doesn't get any better than that!!

Did the Z28 run hard or just go out for show? If I remember the 302 was a hot little motor of the day.
