Funny thing that happened to use last weekend, I had run about 80 (in a 65) up I 75 going to the lake and then about 70 or so ina 55 running a V 1. We then came upon a old couple out for a Sunday drive going 45 in a 55 and as I was coming back in after the pass going about 66 V 1 started to squak then FULL SQUAK and I got stopped. I explained what had happend and he gave me a warning. I said the Seinfield line right as we were pulling out with the warning.

I have told a CHP that I tried to keep it under 100 and he laughed. Didn't get out of the ticket though..

Funny thing is I speed a lot more in my Suburban (7-10 over usually) than I ever do in the 928. Not once have I had a speeding ticket in the Suburban but several in the 928. Now this begs the question...which car is more capable of dealing with braking, high speed maneuvering, etc. There should be different speed limits depending on what you are driving!

12 years ago, I got out of a 93mph ticket in the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska by telling the state cop that my grandmother was on her death bed back in Chicago, and I was just trying to get back to tell her goodbye before she died.

It popped into my head as he was approaching my window, and I was completely surprised when he let me go. Still made it door to door from Denver to Chicago in about 12.5 hours.

I run 80-90 almost every day going to and from work (the 928 is so nice at that speed, wants to go faster). And I'm not the fastest on the road by a lot, just cruising in the fast lane, moving over when faster comes through. But I'll bet the roads will be very "blue" this weekend, so it will be more of a relaxing drive. Fine by me. I don't have a detector so I'll be living on everyone else's good graces (and reflexes).

Mark--

Buy a detector. Eeven a cheapy from Wal-Mart is better than nothing.

Driving fast without a detector and usually a scanner/jammer is like flying with one eye and both ears closed, somebody else's perscription sunglasses on at night, with no rearview mirrors.

If you want to speed just get between a few faster cars and follow.

Normally they only pull over the first guy.

Knockwood, with the V 1 and some common sense its easy to speed and not worry about getting a ticket.

I touched 120 on the way in to work this morning when the traffic opened up on I-96W. It was bliss.

You need an '81 OB.

"I'm sorry officer, the dial stops at 85. Could you tell me how fast I was going?"
