I say it is like playing Russian Roulette. I just had another "save" tonight coming home from the gym. If you're in unfamiliar territory and you get a save, take $100 out and put it in a savings account. In no time at all you'll have a yacht. (jet, island in Greece, etc.)

Whats a scanner/ jammer? Is that a police scanner or some sort of radar scanner? I have heard of the laser jammers but myth busters said they don't work. Hmmm?

Dear god I hope you don't believe the crap science they do.

Do you think for a second a first year law student would allow you to put something on national television that might help the public perform illegal acts? Ha ha ha ha ha ha.......

That's the key. I am never the fastest guy on the road and I always make sure I have a rabbit out front. Now who's going to be the rabbit?

I have a jammer and it appears to work. With it off, the LEO will hit me with laser for about 1 second or less. With it on, they blast me for 4-5 seconds. I have to assume they are having difficulty gettting a reading and thus need to hit me longer with their laser. This little bit of time gives me a safety window to slow down and/or take evasive meneuvers to avoid being clocked.

Edit: However, I also wanted to address the OP question. What do you say?

Answer: Nothing or as little as possible. Be polite, but do not admit anything. Fight the ticket in court, not on the side of the road. Do not consent to a search unless you are sure you are clean, but even then, there is little probable cause, so ask them if they have a warrant. Tell your passenger to shut up - they were napping! (Just ask Tony on this point!) But the best advice is to not get pulled over. Drive smart. Drive fast.

LEO comes up to window and asks, " why are you in such a hurry?" I reply, "My wife ran off and left me for a cop, and I thought it was you trying to bring her back..." Cop almost died laughing, no ticket for 95 in a 70.

Scanner is a must for open-road fast driving at least here in Cali. CHP thoughtfully installs low-power radio repeaters in their cruisers so the officer can use a low-powered handheld radio and have the signals retransmitted to their base station. Sniff for that signal and you know when one is within a mile or so. Cheap use of technology. Transmit a low freq tone on that repeater frequency and sniff for the low VHF return signal from the car, and you can actively hunt them. Not saying that --I-- would ever do that, but I did ride on a plane in a seat where someone who does this regularly sat recently.

You MUST be on the brakes instantly. (See Andrew's post). Do not worry about the nose of your car dropping and it being visible to the officer. But then you ARE paying complete attention while you are driving faster aren't you? So you will react quickly and then get off the brakes.

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BearTracker

If there is a cop within three miles of you and he is using his radio, the bear tracker will alert you to his presence and also keep beeping until you are out of range.

My best advice is to only break one law at a time. If you are speeding, don't be riding dirty. If you are drunk, don't speed. Etc, etc. Cops can be cool as long as you don't look them in the eye or make any sudden movements. They don't call them "bears" for nuttin".

So are these jammers the type that mount in the grill or hav LED's tuned to a similar frequency as the Lidar? Tell me more.

This is what I would say:
