What do I tell the Officer who stops me for doing 85 on my way to SITM?

I'm talking about radar cases where the initial speed estimate could not have been done due to conditions, or where you were moving away from the cop and he's not qualified to estimate your speed in those circumstances. Orr where the guy in the plane is not there on an "aircraft enforcement" ticket. IOW, if you already have a strong reason to dismiss his testimony, having a few small things to add to the pile can't hurt.

Don't get me wrong. I don't hate/fear peace officers. In order to become calm about being stopped, I have become friends (in my mind), with them.
I've worried about this, and I probably wouldn't test my ABS in the 86.5.
Change the rules. Making the cop a little flustered may make him make mistakes. City cops are quick to stop you, but out in the country, I used to immediately get out of the car 'to see what is going on'. (Don't look threatening!!!) Each time I successfully did this, I was let off with a warning. My higher altitude, and benign attitude, converted me from a 'perp' to a 'citizen'.
Don't admit speed! It gets written down. The judge will ask you too. If you say 65, when the laser says 75, and the limit is 55, you are admitting you were speeding.
Answer general questions with a general answer. I have been mentally practising this response, which I thought of after getting my last citation.
Q: "Do you know how fast were you going?"
A: "Last time I glanced at the speedo, I was going over 54, so I let off the gas."

I must respectfully disagree with getting out of the car. I once thought that I would "let them see what a concerned and non-threatening citizen " I was by going back to the cruiser. And in some cases it worked, and quite well too. But not anymore. STAY IN THE CAR and let them come to you and DO NOT give them any reason to suspect you are a threat to them whatsoever. Hands in plain sight, tell them what you are doing (ie: get registration out of glove box, etc.) before you do it and ask permission to move, DO NOT REACH UNDER YOUR SEAT, do not approach them at all in any way. Police have enough nut cases that think they can overwhelm an officer that they don't need any more, and they certainly don't need a reason to draw their weapon at all. I work out with cops and I hear the stories they tell. And, knowing what they face, this is an understandable mindset. Then there is the authoritarian types that are just itching for a rumble; they like a good fight. Why do you want to test them? Especially on the side of the road? Their trip is dominance. Why make their day?
