I have plenty of the lightweight lifters and they are $12.99 each.

Jim:
I sure hope Dennis wants to get this engine to the as soon as we can confirm break in. We also need "Shark Tuner", but we are working on this...
I'd like to see how we might affect the torque curve from advancing the cams once we can "Shark Tune" fuel / timing with any sort of adjustment like cam timing tweaks. I think the "PorKen" cam tool will be super valauble when we play on the dyno.

Hello Roger
What is the difference in weight ,between the stock lifters & the lightweight ones ?
what are they they made of?
as the cams are hardened what are the wear characteristics compared to stock ?
Thank you interested party !

Roger, whats the weight of these Lifters compared to the stock ones? even a few ounces x32 is going to be huge. I am curious how lightweight these lightweight guys are.

Dennis is going to beat Brian and Jorj in the wash and shine competition at SATP! LOL!
Congratulations, Dennis! I'm glad it all came together and you're on the road again in a shark. See you in the morning!!!

Lifter Weight
Roger was kind enough to share some info on the lifters, and I found a weight of 48 grams on a VW listserve.
(This pic is taken from the VW listserve)
The stock VW lifter is 63 grams. I don't know how much the 928 lifter weighs, but I will weigh one when I make it out to the shop later this weekend.
Mike Simard has inspected the VW lifter pretty closely, and it appears that it is lighter than the stock VW lifter by virtue of better design, not at a loss of integrity. Internally, he felt the design was adequate (compatible w/stock).
Bottom line is the proof will definitely be in Dennis' car, unless someone can vouch for another car that has run these. it will be good to hear back how they work out after having some more miles on them. I was pretty impressed how quiet Dennis' motor was on start up, so I think we've got a contender here.

Not only weight..but cost...cheap...and better...really couldn't ask for more....as far as quest for HP..maybe not..but a faster revving motor..well..you know you want that too.....couple that with some titanium bits....hmmmm
cool to find a suitable replacement from VW...(now lets hope they work and last)....
