Hi ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
That first car is owned by a friend of mine...Andy and although its "street legal" he carries it everywhere in a trailer, as apart from anything else it runs on massive drag tyres, which are not street legal lol![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
All the best Brett

Probably more about economics carrying it on a trailer, as AFAIK the MT drag radials he races on ARE street legal & for one of the race series Andy has raced in they had to drive something like 20 miles on public roads before each race.

Hi ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Ok...answer in order as above...
1,2,3
Fuel....I am running off the front of BOTH fuel rails and to KNOW I dont have a pressure problem, I have a Fuel Transducer on the rails that send a signal to my Maxx Extreme Race controller inside (in eyeline) and have had no pressure problems so far...touch wood.
Retard....With my progressive controller ,I have not yet had to retard the ignition although it does have an output for it and I could use my 928 low octane bridge to retard by 6 degrees if needed.
4, You forget I have twin 15lb bottles which can run separately for each bank of the V8 so 500hp PER bottle, with lines to match...
5, As Trevor Langfield (M.D of Wizards of NOS) designed My Pro Race System himself for just 2 cars, mine and an American Pro drag car....
The figures you quoted for Nitrous consumption are correct for normal systems but dont apply to this pro race system as the Nitrous is injected in a different way.
I cannot go too deeply into how, as this is not publicly available yet.
But basically instead of Nitrous injectors or crossfires think of a 8 pipe system that goes directly from 4 Pulsoids straight into my central plenum on the 16 valve.
It uses a LOT less Nitrous and the extra fuel is injected with 8 venom injectors straight into the spider legs (roughly just before the bend) from another 4 Fuel Pulsoids....
I have twin heaters on the bottles although I may well change that to Nitrogen Push with a third bottle....or possibly 4 x 15lb bottles with twin Nitrogen bottles...not finally decided yet.
I hope I get it right as well lol....![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

-Straight from Trevor's website, even 5mm nylon hose is only good for 150hp flow, he himself recommends larger braided SS lines for over 150hp. You're running 500hp per line, way, way over. He doesn;t sell larger kits on his website without braided hose.
"The debate about whether nylon pipe or braided hose is better suited for use in a nitrous system, has been long running. Whilst all other companies have supported the use of braided hose, we have defended and promoted nylon pipe. The outer sleeve of braiding which is so appealing to the masses, blinds consumers from seeing the many disadvantages of braided hose. As you can see, we offer a choice of braided hose and nylon pipe, but we only advise people to choose braided hose if;
1) They want to add more than 150bhp
2) They live in a hot climate, where temperatures regularly exceed 30 degrees."
-There is no way to use less nitrous as less nitrous wiould yield less O2 and therefor a richer mixture. Slight gains can be gotten through better atomization of fuel and therefor a better burn through, but it's minimal.
-30 pounds of N20 would last 37.5 seconds. And only if you could get every last ounce out. After about 25% the pressure drops regardless of how many heaters you put on. Is that enough to get from 150mph to 200+ and sustain it through the speed traps? Not sure, how long to you have to hold the speed and how much distance do you have available?
-As for the lack of retard...sorry, doesn't matter how you get the power there, N2O or boost you have to retard timing. Fact of life. Now, nitrous does have a natural retarding element because of the free nitrogen, however after about 75hp it starts working against you again. There is no way I need 6-8* retard at a 250RWHP shot and you need none at 1000RWHP. I have a great progressive controller and it truly has nothing to do with the need for retard. It ramps up the N2O verse RPM by pulsing the noids to avoid wheelspin and too much force on the engine at low rpm.
-On fuel, it takes a 10an line to support an Aero1000 pump which will flow 1300+ HP NA, no way your fuel rails and 2 macro lines will flow 1000hp of fuel. What pump did you install in the back and did you replace the fuel lines to the rails? Also when the nitrous hits, the fuel will go the course of least resistance, which will be by way of the noids. That will starve the injectors. Even if your fuel regulator can adjust the pressure quickly, the initial hit will cause a lean surge. In a 150hp or even 250 hp shot that slight surge (Covered in Trevor's book) causes no major issues, but at 1000hp, running lean even for a half second will grenade the block.
I do know from emailing with Trevor that he has a new nozzle and pulsoid concept he is working on. But it won't allow using less nitrous, that would mean using less O2.
BTW I love the direct port set up. Very nice. I have 2 nozzles taped into the TB. One was horrible, but two gives me a real even burn when checking spark plugs.

They are angled down which makes them fire towards the cent point and slightly upwards. Since only 2 runners are forward of the TB opening I wanted it a little richer on the back half of the TB opening. Not a true scientific measurement but seems to work real well.
Again, Trevor is brilliant and wouldn't design and install a bad system, but then agin who knows.

I designed the system for Top Speed (200 mph plus), not drag racing although I may well have a go at that after my top speed runs....I have just ordered one of Carls Lsd kits which would help for Drag racing

Have you still got the spraying business as not heard much of you on the Forums lately ?
