brett, i should have new cams installed as well as headers finally fitted so im expecting a modest amount north of 400 bhp at the crank. i think the aero on my car is not really optimised for high speed though, maybe if i have my undertray sorted by then and remove my rear wing along with mounting some skinny rubber the reduction in drag will see me going faster than you?! if not there is always the zoom function on the video

i can always mount one of those green flashing lights and paint a big red cross on the sides as the rapid response emergency medical vehicle

Hi Brett,
I'm no experienced dragster but early Sunday morning is one of the quietest times,
A bit of daylight wouldn't hurt either, it would be nice to see that it was an 928, we
definitely will hear it

Hi

No dyno will touch me

The dynojet I usually use and 2 others both refused...

They say that apparently when the dyno hits 1000 hp (and I have more than that) they go red and shut down....

They say they are worried about my 928 damaging their rollers ...lol

All the best Brett

I seriously doubt that your car has more than 1000 RWHP. If it does, just keep your mouth shut and tell them you don't know how much power it has but you think it should make around 550 RWHP. The will let you run it on the humbler...er I mean dyno.

Hi

There are not that many dynos in the UK....and I already have a 505 hp dyno...and they know that..and the car....and its a little obvious, when you lift the bonnet

+1

I've seen 1,500+ rwhp cars on a dyno rated for 1,200hp. Nothing was damaged and any shop that has half a clue would know this. Like I've said before, you need to find a better shop. Since you are so in touch with the NOS guys, they should know of a good race shop. There are four dyno's within a short drive from my house in Green Bay. All of them can more then handle your car. There is nothing "special" aobut these dyno's either.

It has also been pointed out multiple times in these threads, you do not need anywhere near 1000hp to hit 200mph in a 928. It will be very cool to see 1,000hp from a 928, but I always got the impression the main goal was 200+mph.

Well that's a shame Brett, we'll never have the pleasure of knowing just how powerful tht beastly 928 of yours is .... on the plus side though I met a kid at the gas station today with nitrous on his '78 Toyota station wagon, and he says the exact same thing!!! No dyno will let him on!!! He says when he tells them how much horsepower the nitrous packs (2,000 hp!!!!!) they just laugh ... obviously those guys don't want to break their expensive equipment.

There's a champion dragster on my street, I'll ask him what he does about the problem with dyno's not wanting to put powerful cars on their rollers ..... stay tuned

Hi

Lolll you know very little about Dragsters.....

In case you have forgotten...I used to be a Top Fuel Crew Chief (years ago)...

You try finding a dyno that will put a Funny Car on its rollers (Dragsters, by the way are too long)

A Funny car these days runs around 6000 hp...it would rip the dyno to pieces in the first SECOND

All the best Brett
