Maybe this is a stupid question, but for all the "publicity" here, and if there was genuine interest in generating as much cash as possible for the estate, why wasn't there a detailed list and pics somewhere? Seems pretty bush league to me...

I did similar Ed for a friend that past........the process is brutal...........I'd recommend that folks remote to the 'inside' relations take care of matters with consideration.

I hope some got some great deals.

The reason we didn't come up with truck and trailer was due to no list, and not knowing if things we wanted would be sold before the aucton, or after. 2500 miles round trip not knowing what was there would be harsh.

I sincerly hope all went smooth and the parts went to homes that will use them.

Ed
I bet if you were to pass away and opted to leave your close friend that was still working his way thru school to handle a gigantic warehouse piled with parts you had left behind... you would hope that he would represent you as well and honorably as Troy has Scott.

Guys, I'm not being insensitive. I'm just amazed that there was this hoard of parts and no one could take the time to list or photograph. There are professional auctioneers that do this, and my guess is they earn their keep my maximizing the sale.

Just got off the phone with Troy. It seems the sale was a big success, the only things left were some scattered rear suspension crossmembers etc. All the cars sold and since I know some of the personal history I am ticked pink by who won the GTS, as well as who won a few other high dollar items like engines and the lift....Trust me, Scott would be tickled too!! :-)

Kevin won the car I think.

We bid 34k, the person that we bid against bid $34.5 and bowed out to the sealed bid at $35k. Congratulations, Kevin.

Enjoy the car.

I think Scott would have been very happy with the results.

Actually, Kevin was not the winner. The other phone bidder kept going.

Rixter bought the gray green parts.

1993 5-speed satin black(?) with full leather linen interior, 6.5L with custom welded intake (not currently on the car), custom exhaust with MSDS headers, 3.09 ring and pinion, I think it has Koni/Hypercoil and Weltmeister bars.

I was hoping to get pics up of the GTS this AM but as I expected there was no phone service.

I'll post pics in a few.

As to a partial list of the big items, here it is.

944S front impacted, totaled IMO, decent interior GR/Black no title
944 post 85.5 side impacted totaled. No title.
944 front impact, no engine, shell, some interior pieces and some glass. No title.
85 928S 5spd (the beater) unknown condition bad/pealing paint.
928 OB shell and misc parts, harness, some interior pieces, non-sunroof, No title.
928 85 front impact, gutted, engine and some suspension, some very damaged harness, No title.
928 OB front impact, tub and some misc interior pieces, No title.
928 OB front/side impact tub and some misc interior parts, No title.
1985 Fiat Bertone coupe, silver with possible blown headgasket, No title.

OB 928 partial engine (4.5L) unknow condition (still available, IIRC there is a story or a bolt passing through it, rusted valve springs and valves)

S3 928 partial engine, broken TB/valves
S3 928 partial engine, was being re-built
2x OB complete exhausts from header back (VERY used)
2x S4 up complete exhaust from header back + 1 RMB
5x 5spd transmissions 3 known bad, 2 unknown all pre 87.

3 or 4 sets of wheels, phones, sewer caps, some misc others.
Some tires and 928/944 spares. Some old unmounted tires may still be available of unknown size/condition. IMO not worth the effort to box or ship.

This is where it goes bad.

Dozens upon dozens of used relays, torn and ripped panels, vacume actuators, nuts, bolts, belts, hoses, broken suspension pieces, old shocks, old coil springs. Misc tools in boxes, NIB oils of various types, NIB gear lube, brake fluid, oil filters for who knows what. BTW what is 80-90 weight oil used for? Hundreds unused latex gloves, that's Scott for ya. Used alternators, used AC compressors. Pulled alarms and stereos. Vacume hose in bulk/spools of various sizes. 944 trim pieces, door and hatch seal pieces. Several late 944 fuse/relay panels as well.

I can see why there wasn't a list put together given the diversity of items involved.

As I remembered there was stuff everywhere and there still is unless Tarek is able to fill up his Hertz rental.

Tarek beat me out of the 928 5L block that was a partial rebuild and a few other things. Other than that it was a nice day and as I saw it everyone was looking out for one another and the trust. It was great meeting a lot of new faces.

The big stuff is gone which I hope helps to get things settled for the family and all involved.

Congrats are in due to T.F. on the GTS if all goes through.

There are some pics of the GTS in this gallery http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/album704 there is also a pic of the option sticker there. It was pretty poorly lit so most of the pics turned out poopy.

When I got home tonight and opened my garage door I actually told Matt, damn am I glad that I have a completely intact 928, yeah it needs some work but DANG!!

Michael

P.S. I have been corrected, Several of my descriptions are not entirely accurate BUT that about sums things up and that was my point in posting. If anyone is interested I know that Troy and the estate are looking to move the rest however to clear the building for the new owner.
