I may be going up too. If anyone local wants to ride with me, I have a 7.3 deisel ford with an 8'bed and room to seat 5 comfortably and haul the parts. Gettysburg Pa. area.

Jim,
Fly in to DFW and travel up with the DFW crew - you would be very welcome.
You can keep me awake, while I am driving, with 928 stories.
Best,
Roger

I'm pretty sure that offer was asked from all the major suppliers. The problem is that it was 4000+sqft of unknown 928/944/Esprit/NSX/Jeep parts with over half being 928. I don't think anybody made an offer because there was too much unknown.

Scott offered everything to me, as well as others I'm sure, for a great deal. Included all the cars and bits. Dropping $25k to $75k (never did discuss the actual figure) sight unseen and arrange pick up of 20 plus cars, all in a few days, was to much of a risk in my book and I am sure in anybody elses. I passed.
Same situation here - if the sale was itemized in detail I am sure one of us would be interested in a job lot. So far I have seen nothing that cannot be picked up elsewhere with time and patience.
It would appear a lot of parts and cars have already been sold and also maybe some of the parts mentioned in this thread.
Hopefully I will be able to see first hand tomorrow afternoon whats available.
However, is there any type of guarnatee that all the parts I may see tomorrow will still be there in two weeks time????
Not really the normal way of doing business IMOO.
Its OK if you are traveling from 100 miles away but my trip will be 2500mile round trip and the costs associated with that. Jim flying in from LA is also time consuming and expensive.
Just my 5c worth

One concern I have is that You tend to sell your GOOD parts as you go alone and what piles up is the JUNK questionable which is why we thow away a LOT of 928 parts that we do not feel comfortable guanteeing for a year. So much of the mechanical parts are big ????. Plus Mark has already bought 5 complete cars this WEEK. Now the 401 AMC/Jeep engine if it is still there ...is interesting And I have not seen how the sale is being done. It appears that the GTS has a minimum price. Thanks for the invite Roger but I would be going into N C to visit a friend. If I got that close to Charlotte I would have to see how his drifter cars are coming along.

In the past I have bought the inventory of 3 other busineses that use to sell 928 parts. Each time the majority of the parts were scrap. As Jim states it is the nature of the business. The good stuff gets sold off and the rest piles up. Most people are amazed at what we throw away every week but after almost 20 years in the business and hundreds of 928s purchased we know what sells and what does not. Every year we buy about 36 cars and we sell about 6 doors per year. You can see what happens.

I completely understand. I knew a fair amount of what was in there before Scott started clearing everything out. I have no idea what is left and couldn't estimate what it would be worth. It would be even harder for you, Dave, or Roger to make a reasonable offer that is safe for your businesses.
