The flash rate is based on resistance on the circuit, which the LEDs have changed. Measure it with the LEDs and stock bulbs, then add resistors to bring the LED configuration to stock resistance.

Rather than going to the expense of having it chromed, maybe you coul djust paint one with chrome paint first, or get some of that "chrome leaf" applicae.

Remember, there has to be at least some red reflective area for them to be DOT legal, if you care about that.

Default injection molding..

folks, there is a guy in th UK, who is getting injetion molding work carried out, for things like the fuel pump cover, window wiper cover, etc. Paul anderson of www.928spares.com
i wonder if he'd be into it, seeing as he's making custom/remanufactured parts like exhausts, body work, etc...

regards,

Gareth

Interesting design, you could actually reuse the original lense (maybe) and light housing to make the chucker design , then just build an overlay. Flat plastic would be easy to router to shape for the overlay part, but the formed or domed piece might get dicey, especially with screw inserts. What we need is access to a plastic forming shop!

I think your middle picture is still the best of all. Gives the Beast a very modern look. Build it and they will come!

I saw this on Ebay, so maybe we could find someone that could operate this thing and with enough orders maybe pay for the machine and end up with some of the lighting options we are looking for.

I thought I would raise this thread from the dead and see if anything ever came of it... there were really some good ideas in here but nothing for a year?

I think Brian is totally right. Nicole, if you like nostalgic then keep nostalgic. It happens to be the taillights of an 86.5 and below that actually bother me. Everything else is cooler then ice cream. I like Brians rendition in Porkens pic but only with round reverse lights to match. I would definitely be a buyer if they became available.

Yeah... I really do not like those 70's looking tail-lights... They just look so out of place amongst today's cars.
The s4 blends in ok, but the s2 is not so hot...
