You really want to race on a full stomach, right? Start the day with coffee and donuts at the "show", brunch at Denny's, a few hours of sedate karting, then gather for cocktails and a post-race discussion.
Anybody picked up one of those Hero-3 helmet cams yet? ($140 at Circuit City) We can do a post-mortem race review over drinks. Otherwise, a strategically-placed video camera or two might make for an exciting documentary (that might be used as evidence against us later...)
Ron, Rob, one of the OC folks in that area: Suggestions on dining spots? Last outing ended up at a Claim Jumper, buty they threw us out when they had a line of Paying Customers. The P-cars/6-Speed group gathers at an Outback, usually arranges to have the patio area set off for our exclusive use. Afternoon/early evening on the patio means 70ish temps dropping to 60's by the time we are done, so bring a jacket. Pitch in for group appetizers, choose/pay for your own food and drink from the menu. Is there a place like that near K1? And do we have an estimate of participants for dinner? Hint-- You don't have to do C&C in the morning -or- do the karting if you just want to join up for the dinner gathering. Group can easily include families too. I know Rob and Ron have regular obligations, no sweat bringing them along. More is merrier!
Bill-- are you keeping score on your first-page participants list? Separate column for dinner list?

Yeah Bob, I've updated the entry list once but I do need everyone to give more specific info as to family members that will be attending and whether or not they will be doing both activities. I do like you idea of a morning donut/coffee shop stop prior to for those of us attending the car display. I'm sure we will find something nearby (Ron, Rob? ).

I was kinda thinking that the breakfast burritos and donuts they have at C&C would provide just the right amount of gastronomical impetus. They open at around sunrise (~~6:30am) so not a lot of time for travel + outside breakfast stop before the show starts rolling. If somebody has a bettr idea I'm all ears, though.

The Cars and Coffee starts early and ends early. When I went there was a row of Ford GTs 10-12 as I recall and the two Vector cars were on display . Nice 300 SL Gullwing some of the F cars showed up but no one seemed to notice and several Porsche cars . I often see cars on the freeway coming or going since the dog park where I take the pack is only a couple miles from there. And dog park is a Saturday Sunday morning outing.

Jim-
You take the dogs to Central Bark?
Bill/Bob- Sorry, I've got nothing for dining locations, my nuclear-powered kids have more or less precluded me from dining in public for the last several years.....

Yes we take the five Italian Greyhounds and one Whippet to Central Bark most Saturday and Sunday mornings around 7:30-8:00... So I can probably drop off the wife and dogs and head over to Cars and Coffee to say hello ... unfortunately I can not drive the gocarts they are too small and I exceed their weight limit

Jim, maybe you and the family can drop in on whatever restaurant it is we end up at after the karting is over with. We'll have a time pinned down here eventually.

Just bumping to keep this on page one. On Monday I will post the options on the different race packages and their cost. Once we have a consensus on that I will reserve our spot at K1. So anybody that is on the fence about this, you have the weekend to figure it out. Those of you that have said you will come, let me know if you will be bringing others along so that we will have a head count for the bench racing/dinner afterward. We had a LOT of fun last time so don't miss out.
