I just got a voice mail in NY from Darien about this. Too say the least i feel destroyed inside...absolutely destroyed. Somone said it earlier...like being kicked in the gut. Scot was a fixture at 928 events everywhere and was one of the key faces i always looked forward to seeing.. He road in my right seat for Sharktoberfest 2 years ago when he made the trip out and i road in his for i dont know how many years now at SITM. He ALWAYS went out of his way to make sure i had a ride for the events(offering one of his cars) or just a seat to ride in with him. He was always there....for anyone with a 928 or not. Anyone. Midnight wrenching at the back of DRs place during SITM was in itself an annual event and i cant imagine it now with out him. The cursing, the laughing, the banter..the atmosphere and presence Scot had around him was always a treat to experience. This one is going to be a very tough one to get over.... for many of us. When i get back i will dig up some of my pics and video i have from the drive at SITM this year.

You will be deeply missed Pal.
It aint fair man...way to soon.

I have been trying to get my (new to me) 928 on the road for the last couple years. After discovering TBF (thrust) I contacted him for a low mileage engine he had. Many of you said that "he would give the shirt off his back" and he almost would have at the cheap price (inlcuding delivery) he offered an engine to me for. I passed on the engine, but a few days ago a fellow Rennlister asked if I knew of someone w/ an engine for sale. I emailed "Doc" and asked if he still had it available. On the very same evening of his passing; just hours before, he sent me an email which simply stated "long gone". What an eerie two words to reflect back on. He was such a pleasant guy to talk with; although I never met him face-to-face. I will be saying a prayer for his family tonight as I'm sure many of us have/will. We'll miss you buddy!

I'm just stunned......numb...... This is such an incredible loss. Traveling down the BRP to SITM will never be as fun anymore without the Doc leading the way.

A picture I found of the Doc documenting "early" Friday night at Frenzy 6.......everyone was still standing........"Mr. Bourbon" (not pictured) and "Mr. Tequilla" were names unknown to the 928 community....... ;-)

I'm going to miss the Doc. :-(

Regards,
Mr. Bourbon

Wow. I never met Scott or had any dealings with him. But reading all these posts makes it obvious to me that I have lost by not knowing him. My condolences to his family. Passing in such an unexpected & sudden way is torture to a family, both his personal family & the 928 family. He'll be in my prayers.

DAMMIT....I have been busy and not on the list and didn't know. (Thanks for calling to make sure I knew, Jeannie!).
I'm pretty speechless. Scott was a truly great man, and a friend to so many. Like many here, I have a ton of great memories of GOOD times with Scott.

Scotty - Try and let us know if there's a 'heavenly' version of the Dragon or BRP....

The loss of Scotty is hard for us all, and for Jay Kempf even more so. The two of them were utterly at ease driving in tandem through the twists and turns.

Jay asked that I "tell the crew that I spoke to Josie, that I am so unbelievably sorry, and that I ain't gonna be myself for a while. I'll be out in the woods hiking, biking and in my kayak until it get's cold enough to ski and then I will be doing that. Sometime over the course of the next yearI will do my damndest to re-connect in person with many of those that I have been too distracted to travel and see."
He wanted to so much to so many of Scotty's friend and as time passes he will but for now, "Troy, Tarek, and Tom and all those that were close to Scotty for the last couple months: try to just get away and think of the fun things. I spent about 4 hours in the woods yesterday and some great friends forced themselved in right under my elbows the rest of the day and for that I am greatful".

I doubt I expressed Jay's thoughts very well but he wanted every one to know how much Scotty's passing will meant to us as individuals and as a group.

For those who do not know mw I and guy in the red car following well behind Scotty and Jay for the last two years.

Just stunning to hear of Scott's passing. I met him at Frenzy a couple of years ago and SITM in 2006. Neat guy, full of life and energy. He will be missed. To Josie and the family, my heartfelt sorrow at you loss.

My prayers are with Scott, may he rest in peace, and may he be in a better place. May his family find consolation and peace. I pray that his last days on this earth were enjoyable and that some of the goodness he spread to others came to him. I don't know what happened, why he had to sell the cars that apparently were his life, but I wish time could be turned back and at least he could have gone in a Porsche. I never knew him, I met him in person once and never talked with him other than one or two PM's about parts. But Scott Mohr was a phenomenon in the 928 community. He should have gone in a Porsche.

I just talked to Troy and he has worked out some accomodations close by for those attending the services this weekend and asked me to post them. Here are the details.

Holiday Inn Express - Breezewood, PA

Located at the Intersection of I-70 and the PA Turnpike.

Phone Number 888 989-9515 ask for Andrea or Bob.

Mention you are attending the services for Scott Mohr as they are giving a special reduced rate and trying to group everyone together.

Received the call from Jeanie today. I was just completely shocked.

Tony said it well. Scott had a presence about him. He was easily approachable and fun to be around.

I knew of his affinity for Lotus Esprit Turbos and convertible 928s and sent him emails whenever i noticed any locally or online. He would always send an appreciative email and give me an update on his searches.

Terribly sad. I feel a great loss.

It is definitely a different 928 world without Doc Mohr. Not the same, and not as good.
Still very shocking.

Default funeral procession time

Please confirm if you're planning to attend. If you're planning to arrive to Breezewood tonight please let Troy know so he can coordinate a short get together or dinner.

As for tomorrow, the funeral procession will start at 12:00 from the Holiday Inn in Breezwood to the funeral home in Saxton. It will take approximately 30 minutes. Please meet in the lobby at 12:00

Tom Falkenburg and I will be coming from Washington National airport, and plan on being there a little before 12:00

We plan on having an informal gathering at Scott's shop after the service, to spend time together where he did for a large portion of his life. Scott would have loved to host us there.

Again, please confirm with Troy as soosn as possible if you plan to attend, so we don't miss anyone at the start, especially that cell phone coverage outside of Breezwood is very limited.

Troy's cell phone number is (814) 312-8943

OMG, this is terrible news......!
I met Scott at the first Frenzy, and have enjoyed his friendship over the years......
He had such a genuine and kind way about him, that you couldn't help but like him.....
At the 2006 SITM we had a good time cutting-up and working on his car at David's, but this past year (2007 SITM) we talked for only a little while, and we both remarked that we'd wished we could have spent more time together..... Sadly, that next time will have to wait until we meet again in the big house with the pearly gates........ This really sucks...... My heartfelt condolences to the family...... So sorry for your loss..... Obviously, he touched a lot of lives here too, and he will be sorely missed....
Happy Trails, Scott.........
