Default The official oil pressure gauge reading thread

This is not, repeat NOT an attempt to finally determine which brand of oil is better or which viscosity is better in a 928.

What I'd like to do is pull together information for reference and if enough people respond, I'll put it into a spreadsheet and make it available on my website for future reference.

Here's what I'd like to ask:

What year car you have
What brand and viscosity oil you use (not how you feel about it)
What the oil pressure gauge reads at idle when cold, then idle when warm, and
What the oil pressure gauge reads when revving at 5k rpms.
and if you know it, your oil consumption

That's all, just the facts, ma'am.

I'll start:

'85- 5 speed (US).
I use Amsoil, I think it's 15w50, but I'll have to check when I get home and edit if that weight is wrong

Idle when cold: 5 bar
Idle when warm: 3 bar (pretty consistently)
Reading at 5krpm: 5 bar rock steady

BTW- If you've got an SC or any other oil affecting mods, please list them, you get an asterisk * in the list. (or a star, if you prefer)

EDIT- Adam (atb) had a good idea, how about mileage too? Mine's in my sig. And thanks everyone. I didn't want to add another post because everyone is just adding good info, I didn't want to break the streak.

Castrol 15w 40 (I think, will confirm in due course - not near the car at present)
Car 1990 S4
Cold Idle - 4.5 bar (gauge only ever reads this high, 4.5 = 'pegged')
Hot idle - 1.5 bar
Hot @ 5,000 rpm - 4.5 bar

Gauge reads about 0.5 bar too low, as confirmed by interrogation of digital dash. Will recalibrate by pulling pod and fixing needle on spindle 1/8" (0.5 bar) in due course.
