88 SE, 135,000 miles.

Penrite Sin 10.
10W70
API SM/CF
ACEA A3/B4

3.5 Bar Hot idle
(As hot as I could get it was halfway on the temp gauge after a spirited drive up the blue mountains West of sydney - 800m of elevation change in about 8 kms - mostly in 2nd and 3rd the last half hitting 6k+ rpm changes - something to do with leaving behind a police car that did a U turn to try to follow me)

5 bar from about 2k rpm upwards

Drops to about 2 bar if you brake the engine revs down to about 400 rpm.

I just switched from my mobil1 15w-50 to mobil 1 truck, turbo, suv (delvac 1) 5w-40 for the cooler weather. With 80 degree f ambient temps and a car fully warm after a 45 minute drive:

5 bar @ cold idle
2.1 bar @ idle hot

4.5 bar @ 2800 rpm hot

5 bar @ anything above 3500 rpm's

Pretty similar to the M1 15w-50 on my car, hot idle dropped from 2.5 bar to 2.1 bar with the 5w-40.
Looks like my car will be just fine with the lighter oil, and if needed I'll switch back to the 15w-50 for the summer. I feel better with the cold start protection of the 5w-40 weights in the cooler fall and cold winter temps........

87 squirter block, 5,000 miles on complete engine rebuild, rod bearing clearances .0018-.002, mains a little bigger IIRC around .0025.

Valvoline 20W50 racing, non synthetic (break in oil)

Cold pegged at ilde
Hot, after a long hard drive in the summer in Georgia 2.5 at idle of about 650 RPM.

It will peg the gauge at anything much over 2500 regardless of temps.

Because of Calgarys altutude and location, temps can be from the 30's to the 80's in the same day during the driving season. Tried Mobil 10w30 for a short time but when warm idle was close to 1 bar. Switched to 15w40 conventional oil and have 2 bar at warm idle, 5 bar when cold, 4.5 to 5 bar over 2500Rpm, have no noticable oil consumption.

Will probably switch to 10w40 next year as with the cool fall temps, car does not turn over as nicely when cold.

What is so funny? I was talking about my old stock block (s) . My stroker only has a change to the bottomend, with drilling the crank as its only oiling mod.
