With respect, I think you guys are wrong. The 928 was a premium Porsche in its day, but Porsche has never played in the same league as Ferrari or Aston Martin. AM has come down the ladder with the V8, but the DB9 is an order of magnitude different car. A modern 928 would be around $100-120k, high-performance GT with a back seat. The AMV8 fits the bill pretty well but is a little small, and the Jag is outclassed. Honestly the M6 is a decent comparison too and they competed with the 928 in the late 80's. But Maserati's new GT is very impressive, larger than the last one, right price point, and they have changed the direction of the car to be the high-speed GT - exactly the 928's demographic.

The new Maserati, definitely.

Wasn't the 928 a competitor to the Testarossa in '95?

As much as I LOVE my GTS, I would gladly give it up for that Aston Martin DBS. Wow! V12, 520 hp, 3700 lb.
Did you get a chance behind the wheel Jim? I got a chance to drive a DB9 (I know, not the same as the DBS), and it was awesome, but I still wouldn't give up my 928 for it.

The Testarossa was made to look cool, sound great and make Ferrari more money to spend on racing.
The 928 was designed to be the best car and is the only sports car ever to be voted car of the year in Europe.

Take your pick.

what is a 928?
Its fast...well some of them. not mine lol
can seat 4
can carry 4s luggage
stands out from other cars
is a pleasure to drive EVERYDAY.

their are many cars that have most the quality's but always seem to fall short on interior space.
RS6 avant might fit the bill in all areas but its not a 2 door sports coupe
