Not sure where you get 300 for my baseline. 328 * .85 = 279

So, 441-279 = 162/8 = 20.25RWHP/psi, but I see I must have fat fingered something when looking at Murph's numbers, so I guess they're about on par for efficiency... for now

[Edit] However, I think there is at least 20~40 RWHP on the table with some tuning, so if I were able to get let's say 460 with the current setup at 8 psi, that would give me 22.6 RWHP/psi. If I hit 480 (which DR thinks I can do) that would give me 25.1 RWHP/psi. But right now, we're on par.

The 89' I built had 267 rwhp with only chips prior to supercharging. Now with 12.5psi it turns 545rwhp. That comes out to 22.24 rwhp per pound of boost. I replaced the chips with stock ones before adding boost which may account for some change. I also added thicker headgaskets to reduce compression and added one of our crossovers. I do not know what it would have dyno'd at with stock chips and reduced compression but that would increase the horsepower per pound of boost even more.

Hold yer horses - Tim's other car is over 556rwhp

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/151379-murf928-supershark-dyno.html

This car has been off the road for a while as Tim worked on the stage III kit. He is hoping to restart that project after SITM. There is a bit of HP on the table with this car considering 17psi.

We have yet to dyno Todd's car, his peak boost was 24psi. I'm not sure where he is at now, breaking in a new motor with a 3rd party EFI system.

If you're sure the pistons will take it then I might get one of these too.

15 PSI...

Tim is the high HP king of boosted sharks.....BUT Louies monster with 584whp is the current Dyno king of all currently running 928's (Bob Devores old monsters not counted).....

I don't doubt that Tim could get close to that # with more boost.....especially in his 5 speed car!

But dyno's only tell one side of the story.....a high dyno # with a messed up curve that spikes straight up in like 1000rpms then quickly drops off is worthless and no fun....I want a flatish torque table & a 45 degree HP line....that car would be much more fun to drive!!!

It would be fun to have some G-tech drag races between the Murph Stage III kit and Andrews TS (once its tuned properly...)

Andrew
I do think you can reach close to 500whp with proper tuning!!

Anyone know where that dyno sheet is?

Another factor many forget is day to day driveability. Making a peak HP number on a dyno is not all that hard. Keeping that peak HP number in a car the wife can take to the store is the challange!

Tim's automatic is commonly known around here as "The Wife's Car"

Iceman, Tim and Andrew already had their G-tech war! Guess who won? BTW I wasn't counting Louis's beast as it is far beyond the scope of "bolt on". It is in a class by itself to be sure. All of this big HP talk has got me feeling inadequate at 405 RWHP. I need MORE. The wife doesn't care cause it's cheaper and better than other women so I will be doing this.

Hacker, perfect point, because it seems that is the stable driveability many wannabe boostard's have been waiting for.

So let's recap...

Andrew nearly has his kinks ironed out for what should be close to 500 and what should be a nice rising power curve... looking forward to seeing the results. DR's kits available for sale.

Tim's Stage3 is dialed in at five-freakin'-eleven at the wheels and his wife approves of driving friendliness. Tim's kits available for sale.

Seems Abby's setup is nearly complete for what promises to be some nice performance... can't wait to see the dyno #'s... which should round out the "choices" for boost. Mark's kits available for sale.

Essentially, that equates to most sharks (32v'ers) obtaining super-car level performance for ~$20k - complete. And even 16v'ers are in the 350-ish obtainable realm (thanks Hacker) for what ~$12k complete.

Wow. I never thought of my Shark as optionable to 500+ hp

Thanks to all you performance inovation nuts for kickin' *** !!

There's no way in hell that I could ever live in Wisconsin. Sorry-

No way- I will NOT shovel snow from my driveway ever!

IN fact, did you know that I bought a house in a frost-free place [Fort Lauderdale] largely because this place is frost free? Wilton Manors is the name.

Now, lets add boost to M28's inverse to degrees fahrenheit in Broward County Florida. I spent the day helping my significant other run his business, via painting the eaves of a house.

I haven't flown a 727 since May 5th....I'm concerned about the fact that I might even be a bit rusty! I keep my manuals close at hand!

Just to confirm, the test car has completely stock internals, and is not an '87 with the different rods and oil squirters?

Maybe it is time for a SharkTuned chip, a superMAF and a smaller pulley...
