Question What is your most hated job on a 928

Plenty to chose from, but the one that was most dispiriting was removing the rear suspension pin, which took 6 hours on one side, moving at about 2" per hour.

The second time I had to remove it took no more than a couple of minutes.

People living in the southern US will probably wonder what I'm taking about, count yourselves lucky that you don't have to contend with gritted (salted) roads.

Rear suspension pivot bolt gets my vote hands down, that was one serious pain . Ended up having to take the hub off on both sides to remove those bolts ..... I in fact enjoy working on my 928's but that job was the first time I started having doubts.

I'm on the fence: pulling the cam towers or master cylinder.

beleive it or not, that stupid front grill vert support (driver's side) - took me almost 3 hrs to replace the broken with a new! Couldn't find where all bolts and screws were located, then trying to fit hands in tight space behind grill to screw it all back together....Tough to do when you don't lift car (I really need a good set of jackstands). I haven't tried any of those big engine rebuild jobs tho...

Removing rear calipers on just axle stands. No room to get breaker bar in good position for leverage so ended up lying on back in a kind of birthing position and pushing with my foot on a ratchet, with the added excitement of thinking that if the car came down my leg would be amputated at the thigh.

Related low point is trying to pull pads out when the caliper plates have corroded.

The MM's were no picnic, nor was the TB/ WP. One of the most awkward is the dash pod replacement (Replaced some burned -out bulbs) with that silly bracket that the 4" bolt fits into- plus you're working upside down& sideways!

Getting at the top two Torque Tube bolts with the tranny still is the car is a task, 4ft of extentions that all twist. I cooked my 1/2 ratchet on that one

Upper A-Arm control bushings. Getting to the screws on the inside of the fender, without hitting the exhaust manifold.

These are all pretty good candidates. I've come to terms with the rear lower suspension pin and have no problems with it now. TB/WP has become routine. You actually can learn something from experience.

Now that's an understatement Bill !!
Doubt I'm the only one that'd venture to say you could probably do a TB/WP blindfolded ... sorta not kidding
