Probably not my most hated job, but a hassle for what it is.... replacing the air conditioner belt. You know why. After spending a couple of hours doing it, 3 minutes later, it cooked off. Compressor is bad. I have a new compressor, just have to put it in. (that will probably be my next candidate for this topic!)
Adjusting the front ride height is another one. Can't be done with the wheels on. Then have to drive around around a while to settle in, check, adjust, repeat.

I've done both the master cyclinder and then MM and OPG, and I'd have to say there about equal in the PIA category. The majo problem with the master cyclinder was waiting for parts because of a stupid caliper mix up (3 weeks!!) but that was my fault not buying form specialist or international. The MM and OPG sucked because taking some of those old rusted bolts out was near impossible, but putting everything back only took a few hours. It always is easier putting something back together after you know ho its taken apart! The job was also made harder because I could only work on it at night for a few hours because of school

It took me 6 hours of lying on top of my engine the first time to remove the throttle cable from its knuckle under the intake on Godzilla. Now that I've got 7 tears of experience, even the worst one takes me no more than 5 minutes.
My most hated job is torque tube or torque converter bearing on an auto. Because you have to disassemble pretty much the entire car from underneath, while popping into the engine bay; cabin and rear hatch area to undo stuff and turn the engine over. Horrible. In fact one of my cars may never come back together because I started this job.

The MM/pan gasket took the most physical effort and probably planning (only had to do it once though)
The clutch job was a major PITA, and I ended up doing most of it over again
The TB/WP wasn't that hard to do it wrong the first time, then to fix it was even easier.
The forward shift ball socket was a major PITA, but only because I had taken a 'shortcut' the first time and undoing that took more time than it should have.
PS rack rebuild/ps pump rebuild/tie rod/lower ball joint replace was fun, but time consuming (Fun because for once I had all the parts and tools ahead of time).
I guess for me the toughest jobs are the ones that I have to do two or more times, which is most of them.
It seems I am my own worst enemy.

I gott go with Clutch master and blue hose. I couldnt get the Blue hose onto the original master cylinder so i said F*&Kit! I bought a new master and attached the blue hose to it before installing it to the firewall. Getting the bolts through the firewall and into the master was a serious pain. Sitting your *** on the lower door sill of the 928 is seriously uncomfortable. Its sharp even sitting on a towel folded over 4 times. A literal pain in the *** when you have to sit on that sill to see under the footwell.

Another one was removing the entire wiring harness thats inside the cabin out the 2" diameter hole in the firewall when removing the engine. I had help getting it in and it was actually pretty quick. But Ive since learned that when pulling the engine, just disconnect the wiring harness from every damn thing and leave the harness intact and attached to the car. Its a serious pain to feed all that crap through that seriously small hole.

Removing a quarter panel sucks. Those fancy spot weld drillbits from Eastwood don't last. You have to drill out an area much larger then the spot weld appears to be in order to eliminate all of the welded metal. Then it's still held in place by some structural adhesive so you need a panel separating knife and a BFH (big f%^&ing hammer) to drive the knife through. And finally, the easy part of the job is determining where your panel breaks will be and you can cut that with a sawzall. Once you're finished, if you're replacing it with a used panel you get to do it all over again.
Welding in portions of the floor sucks as well. This is because you get to weld while laying on your back which drastically increases your chances of getting burned.
Stripping old Porsche paint will causes some headaches because catalyzed paints don't respond much to chemical strippers. Porsche used a heavy layer of 2K surfacer at the factory which must be sanded or blasted through. Both methods are time consuming and messy.
But without a doubt, unless there's a secret easy way to do it, removing the bumper covers is IMO the worst job on the 928. The only thing that would suck more then removing them would be installing them after they've been freshly painted.

here is a new one for you. My AC line from dryer to to the back of the motor and through the firewall started leaking. This think goes to the side of the radiatorand it weaves in and out of EVERYTHING on the passenger side of the motor. I had to remove intake manny, intake, all hose, the whole ECU harness, freakin everything! took 4 nights to do

Agree with everybody
My most hated job is putting new fuses on my 81s; I can never get them back in - I usually break the first one. Plus you have to lie on the floor and hold the lid open with one hand while you use your other 2 hands to put the fuse in - plus with my multi focal glasses i can see the fuse holders unless I stand on my head

Believe it or not, the fuel filter. Even with the tyre off it is so damn tight in there. If I could curse in German I would have been. An old oil filter spanner did the trick in the end and I won the day.
