Believe it or not we are still on the first set of tires and they still have half the tread thickness left!

Damm...you would of been first by more than 20min if you could just figure out how to drive in such a ways to burn threw at least 4 set of tires!!!!...like the "PRO's" do.

Just another excuse for going back next year! BTW, How does that work? I remember you going through the invitation process earlier. Because you placed do you get some kind of exemption?

You must all be on such a high right now... Rocky Mountain High! Truly awesome stuff... legendary. Cheers to you all! To place 3rd on the first go is just mindboggling. I'm sure with building on this year's experience you will only get better and better, too. The sky is indeed the limit. (The horrible puns, cliches, metaphors and similes here are endless, but genuine, I promise!!!!). Still can't believe that the co-driver fell into your lap; what a huge stroke of luck. Can you sign him up for next year?

Can't wait to see the videos!!!

The BFG KDW-NT (aka KDW2) tires are an anomaly - very sticky but very hard-wearing at the same time. More people should try them.

I guess I tend to hold long-standing grudges against manufacturers... My experience with BFG T/As (a long time ago) was that they were pretty good for the first half of the tread, but beyond that were a much harder compound. They abruptly went from having good grip to what felt like driving on teflon, especially in the rain.

I told myself "never again", but... Anyone have experience with the KDW2's beyond 50% wear?

Carl isn't a best friend, but I've met him several times and he is so modest and an absolute great guy. As a funny aside, when we went to his place in Horicon, WI we found it by asking after his wife! She is a school teacher in town and they knew her at the local diner - the Porsche guy, well he is too modest and low profile! "Mrs Carl" is a fine lady and it isn't surprising that the locals knew her. Carl took time out to show my wife and I the race car and his shop. Good guys do well when they work hard and live the dream.
