its the nurburgring thats driven me to it.. before i visited that place the car was a fast road car but since then its become less and less civilised and less compromised! im really happy with the cage and the effect it has on the aesthetic. to me now the car feels properly like a racetrack refugee as i sit in it glad you guys approve.

This is what the SFI recommends: http://www.sfifoundation.com/seatbelt.html
And if you ever plan on running a HANS device in the future, the requirements for belt attachment points are even more strict.

Here's my new one. 8-point, Chrome-Moly lightweight alloy.
The biggest challenge was not the cage itself - it was the regulations.
We wanted to make one roll cage that would pass tech inspection at the PCA events, plus SCCA, plus Pike's Peak. This cage does.
Getting the front trusses in without disturbing the WWiper motor and the Accusump was also difficult, but we got it done.
There is a cross bar at the front that is not easy to see, but it is there. We put it up high just under the factory tube behind the dash so it would not be a kneecap breaker.

I like that your top door bar is removable, George. I wanted to do that too, but the rules committee would not permit it. But they did allow us to lower the bars to make entrance/exit easier - so we did it that way. Still, I like the removable top bar idea if it can be made just as strong (and it can).

What rules committee had a problem with a removable brace?
That is nice to have a cage that would make every possible sanctioning body happy, what tubing thickness did you use?

that is a horizontal bar going across parallel to the rear shock mounts onto which i will be attaching the harness. as far as i can tell crudely measuring this gives an acceptable angle as oposed to the current situation which has them anchored into the rear seat belt mounts - that angle is definitely outside whats reccomended.

wow, thats a lot of bars! did you really need the rear to be boxed in to that level? if so, a match up front would be boxing in the entire front end. also, why the offset of the main hoop diagnal? I thought the rules need a bicection of the horizontal bar. i would cut a few of those bars out to save weight!
I like the driver door bar set up. I did something like this, and probably should connect them in a few more places like you did.
Whens the first race!!!!
