Interior pictures of *real* roll cages in 928s?

Hi Chuck,
At home of course
4 car garage, 1 car carport, and car covers for the others
When I started going to the track, even with my cars is essentially street stock form, I bought a car trailer and started towing. My personality is such that I would spend all day concerned about whether my car would be able to be drive home. The value of not changing tires and brakes first thing in the morning is also nice. I have been known to drive 300 miles in the morning to get to the track and another 300 miles home afterwards. I even did a longer one day run out to BeaveRun but technically it took more than 24 hours and I had to stop on the way back for a nap
Although about 1 year ago I prepared my M3 the night before and drive to the track on track tires, had fun, and drove home. It was a refreshing change.

the old very brown 1980 has a bolt in roll bar mostly just as a good place to hook the 5 point harness in the lower classes of POC they exempt you from being REQUIRED to have a full roll cage or fuel cell which makes getting on the track far more affordable . I do have AAA long distance tow so I know I can get the car home from Willow Springs thus far it has always driven home though a couple times I made quick trips to 928 International for spare parts to be able to run the second day AND drive home ! That said the car is loaded victor racers on the car and 5 V710s mounted and stuffed inside, small tool box ,race box with sparers, alloy floor jack, jack stand, small cooler, jumpstart box air compressor combo ......but I forgot my "tennis" shoes so will drive this weekend in my topsider loafers So Saturday and Sunday I get to PLAY probably THREE HOURS driving as fast as I can on a 1.8 mile race track plus riding with students in their cars.

When I first started motorcyle racing I used to ride my bike out to the local track (Summit Point, WV) from where I lived (Washington, DC). There was another guy who did the same (I think he was from Baltimore) so we used to pit next to each other and try and help each other out since we only had the tools we could bring on our backs. We were both just starting out (we'd met in race school) so we didn't know many other people at the track.
Then one race the guy wrecked pretty hard and was airlifted out. The cornerworkers eventually wheeled his bike back to the pits, looking for someone to claim it. There wasn't much I could do but ask around for someone with room in their trailer.
After that I always borrowed a truck and rented a trailer (I lived in the city so didn't have either) when I raced. And when I could I'd get someone to come out and be my pit crew - and so they could drive my stuff back if I couldn't for some reason.

Just as a point of reference, nastycar bars are not as safe as most people think. In nascar, they achieve the strength as a result of pure bulk of the many tubes on the side of the driver. In an impact, a curved bar (without enough bracing, as many people do when they create "nascar" bars) could deflect towards the driver at nearly the same distance it is protruding into the door. I'll post up some pictures of my roll cage on my near-finished race car (which had to be put on hold again until early '07 to be finished) when I get home later today.

Chris,
No, I can't make anything like that
But I know who can, although it isn't cheap; splitter link
