SF NORTH BAY AREA FUNRIDE & SHOP VISIT - OCT. 28
Hello 928ers in Northern California:
Yes, I know Saturday the 28th is the weekend after Sharktoberfest, but we have an opportunity that makes this the best date for our next funride.
Ken Adolf has offered to host a brunch at his shop, R.S. Racing Developments , in Mare Island. Ken's shop does performance work on all kinds of Porsches and works together with Phil Threshie and 928 Developments on parts and services for 928. Ken is a 928 owner and has participated in some wrenching sessions at my house. This event will be a great chance to see a huge Porsche shop and pick Ken's fund of knowledge about performance mods and other mechanical issues with the 928.
LINK TO DIRECTIONS AND MAP TO KEN'S SHOP:

We will meet at Ken's shop, at 151 Waterfront Ave, Mare Island, at 10am, and get a cooks tour of the facility. After that we will proceed up into the Napa wine country again following essentially the same drive route as the funride in July, shown here. A new ride map with the exact route including directions to Ken's shop will be posted momentarily. Lunch is tentatively set for the same Red Hen Cantina (4175 Solano Ave, Napa, CA 94558) as during out last ride.
Please mark your calendar and plan to ride with us around the beautiful Napa wine country. Those who attended the last ride will recall the outstanding roads and phenomenal scenery of this drive route.
Hope to see my 928 friends on Saturday, October 28.

Count me in, as long as I'm back in time for the final set of the Halloween Bash (it's the wife's most favorite event of the Year)
hmmm I wonder if I could turn that in to a Shark event.....

Rats, Rats, Rats!!!
Bill, sounds like a great time and a perfect little getaway - unfortunately I'm going to still be out of commission trying to heal the knee just to walk; doesn't look like driving until December.
Man, this sucks...but I hope you guys have a really great run !!!

Oh alright then. My yacht is in drydock that weekend and my jet is loaned out, and I have guests staying at my private island retreat, so I guess I could make the time to come along.

Hey Ron - ya, it's an auto, but the problem is that I shattered my knee (as opposed to just getting orthroscopic or a replacement). It means non-load bearing for 8+ weeks, which includes driving.
I was thinking about your statement though, and can see how the seat comfort/adjustability as well as driving/controls layout may make it easier than most cars once the Doc gives the okay to ease back into the driver seat.
At a minimum it's good reasoning to get back into the Shark first !!
