Default FS: 1978 Porsche 928, 5-speed, LSD, SF Bay Area

FS: 1978 Porsche 928, 5-speed, LSD, 96.5k miles.

Price: $5k. SOLD!

Beautiful cashmere beige 1978 Porsche 928, almost fully restored. 4.5L V8.

I bought the best condition early 928 I could find to fully restore but need to move on to other projects.

Fairly rare 5-speed, and very rare LSD; lightest of all 928s.
96.5k miles. Clean title.
Original window sticker and salesperson card.
Beautiful paint; looks like a well maintained 5-year-old car.
Lovingly maintained; all receipts going back to 1978 (over $20k worth!).
Unmodified apart from large Devek radiator and stainless steel exhaust.
Engine idles smoothly when warmed up (well, as smoothly as a V8 can) and pulls strongly; brakes are strong and the transmission shifts smoothly.
Chrome telephone dial wheels were polished in the recent past and look like new.
Lots of tread left on tires. Plenty of material on brake pads.
Original AM/FM radio/cassette player.
Registered and smogged until August of next year.

Some minor outstanding issues:

. AC does not work. Compressor and lines present but no freon; fan and heater work perfectly.
. Clutch will eventually need to be replaced, though it has been slipping through at least the past two owners so will easily last for 10k+ more miles if you know how to shift.
. Interior is in amazing condition with the exception of wear on the front leather seats (no stains or tears; rears are perfect) and some cracks on the dash.
. Like pretty much every Porsche of this era, there is minor oil leakage - a few drops after sitting for a week or so.

Pictures below.

Some pictures. Will try to get interior pictures this weekend.

Email me if you want the VIN (though CarFax does not recognise VINs older than 1982 or so).

Apologies if 'for sale' ads are not allowed here. I did a search and found plenty others so assumed it was ok on this board.

You have to be a member to post for sale ads. Randy is very consistent about that.

You need to be a member to offer things for sale, and you'll need to put the price in your initial posting. Randy will be at his desk momentarily, so at least get a price in here before the thread disappears completely...

-- OR --

Get your Rennlist membership process started instantly. E-mail or post that you've got that going and there may be some forgiveness. Takes minutes online and it's a bargain.

Just paid my dues via PayPal.

I listed the price as $5k in the original post. I'll try to make it more obvious.

Sorry-- my mistake for not reading the line with the dollar sign in it.

Hey--- welcome to the group! It's now our duty to explain to you why you really don't want to sell your car. get ready!

Is it rare to find a LSD on a 928?
From what i've read, mostly rare on the OB's. Mine has LSD too, but the clutch packs are worn out.
