where did you get your Black and white (silver) hood crests. i see many on ebay but am a bit leery.
looks a lot different than this now...
Kind of an odd story. I had some kind of tinted black, red, and silver ones made for my 997 from Eli at Wheel Dynamics. They turned out like crap, but he wouldn't take them back, so I used them. Over time, the red sections actually fell out so I replaced them with black paint and that gave them this monochrome black and silver look - actually very similar to what goes on the K-Jet and L-Jet intake manifolds and those you can still buy new but they don't have pins on them, just double stick tape. I used one of those to surround my ugly trunk lock because it's a convertible.
When I redid the motor last year, I installed shiny silver colored crests on both the engine and the hood, but don't remember where I sourced them - maybe from eBay.
As you can see here, the red sections of the one on the hood is now fading already.
I have this one I removed from my 911 when replacing it with a RUF badge if you wanted to flow some black paint into the sections to have kind of a black and grey one.
If you really want a custom one done of excellent quality, you need to reach out to user Intrepid Agent here on Rennlist. He makes gorgeous filled crests so the surface is smooth using different colors and materials like cerakote and will even nickel plate the crest so the parts that do show are shiny. (these aren't for sale though).
