Lots of Fun. Thanks to Anders and Nicole for getting everyone together! nice pics of the event too.

Hey, the Swede did come out on top. (yet only 2 turns ahead, or 5.5seconds ahead at the finish, as we were having more trouble with traffic behind, and each other!) The sneaky swede did get in front, and im still trying to remember where that happened, but it did!! oh, i think it was due to my start. I spun at turn one on cold tires, and the entire field passed me. Anders got by Scot and a good pass for the lead on Bill before i caught up to them. Then, after I caught up to dennis, scot and Bill wester (BMW guy) i got by those two only to battle with bill most of the race until near the end . While i was only .2 seconds faster, he was driving real wide. We fought for most of the race, even got into some battles with Dennis close behind. ( I think scot was in there for a while too) . I eventually got by, but only finished the race 1 second ahead of him. Anyway, we had a couple of cautions and some pretty unorganized restarts, that allowed for some position changes. (and some real hard fender banging!) In the end, a pretty fun race. good warm up for this weekends SCCA race at Sears Point! (however, i could get used to making my way to the front by banging fenders..... that was a blast!)

We should do this a couple times a year.

Many thanks to Anders and Nicole for organizing such a fun event!

The track event was a blast. It was my first time at a cart track and the moment I saw all the guys with their own fire suits, I knew I was in line for a beating. As I suspected, my practice lap times religated me to the "slow" group. With all the competitive juces that were flowing, its a good thing the carts had complete bumper surrounds. I think the main races were more NASCAR than CART. The corner workers were working overtime with their "No Bumping" signs. What a blast!

My skills aside, it was good to see the "1/2 of a 928" boys represent so well, with Chris Luckett (968) and Anders (951) in the "fast" group.......

AND OF COURSE, THE OVERALL WIN AND BRAGGING RIGHTS going to Anders!!!! Way to go Anders!

Anders basicaly had to win though. When he pulled out his FANCY "Turbo Cup" pajamas, he took a beating from the '28 folks. The only way to save face was to hold the trophy. And he did.

Sorry 2X 944 people, maybe next time.

Trash aside, it was a great time with great people. Nice to meet and compete with everyone! Sometimes you just have to say "WTF"

Oops, checked in too late and someone has already posted a picture of the timesheet w/ Nicole's dominant qualifying time. My theory is that she has been practicing more than Anders.

I qualified 2nd in the A-group but probably had the 3rd or 4th fastest time overall. For the race, I was gridded 2nd (a mistake) and maintained my position by squeezing Kibort in 3rd into the wall, just like Michael Schumacher does in F1 (diagonal line from outside grid to 1st turn apex).

Then Anders went all Paul Tracy on the stewards asses and we had a restart where I was gridded in 6th. I was yelling my head off like this guy (http://www.specmiatavideos.com/Compi...wasseventh.wmv) but there was no justice.

On the restart Kibort & Chris were smashing into each other ahead of me so I took the outside line and somehow managed to shave Chris off on the inside wall. The middle of the race was a blur and I ended up finishing 4th after an unintentional but textbook-perfect NASCAR bump-n-run on Scot.

Big thanks to Nicole & Anders for organizing this whole thing. Had a blast. We have to do it again. And in the meantime, I have to get some cheatin' bastard practice in . . .

Nicole: thanks to you and Anders for organizing the Karting event it was fun ,even though Sara and I felt like mobile chicanes as we were passed by the flying swede and Kibort repetedly ! I have Karted numerous times in my life but the image of Anders smouldering neck support doughnut on the back of his Kart is one that I will not soon forget.

Thank you Anders and Nicole, i had a great time, as a first time cart driver spent most of the first round sliding around corners. In true newbie 928 fashion, I managed to have two mishaps getting to the site, firstly as the ac started making a grinding sound and smoking and then pulling into a parking concrete stop and managing to get that stuck under the front bumper. In true rennlist/928 fashion, i got plenty of help and advice (esp Charlie B). Thanks to all !

Thanks, everybody, for coming out and racing with us! If I have the numbers right, we had:

15 drivers
21 people at the Pizza place
9 people at my house afterwards for Swedish coffee

The sweet Swede safely made it back to his home land.

I arrive on June 27 and fly home on July 12.

Which day is the best for this? June 28 to make sure that I don't get any practice laps under my belt?

Anders:

28th sounds good. Nicole mentioned a few days ago that you would be vsiiting soon, but I couldn't talk as I was buried underneath George's motor at the time. If we can set a date, I'll get the word out too. The 27th was originally taken with a funride but that has been postponed until July 18th.

I arrive on the 27:th, and LeMans Karting has an event on the 28:th it seems..

Can't believe it's been three years already. Feels like yesterday..

I will be out on the road 1-3 of July but the rest of the days should be fine, maybe a weekday evening is the best?
